My neutered verizon phone

Out of curiosity, anyone here have a verizon phone that that they've played around with to undo the neutering software they put on them?

I've got a krazr that can play MP3's, it's got bluetooth, the whole bit. But man, if I want a new ringtone or MP3, I've got to buy it through them. LAME.

Any phone hackers in here?

Doesn't your phone have a USB port? All you need is the USB cable, and just transfer MP3 files off of your computer onto the phone, and you can apply them as ringtones or listen to them as MP3's. I have a Motorola V360 with the microSD slot and , and built in MP3 player, and that's how I do it.

Oh, right. T-Mobile FTW. I hacked and unbranded my phone in about 5 minutes, their software is bare-bones simple.

I have the Q and I get by with using the SDcard. Try that, I would say that would be the easiest/cheapest way. Verizon's fees blow my fat ass.

I have an LG VX9800 and I use my miniSD card to transfer MP3s.

If I want an MP3 as a ringtone, I use bitpim

The Krazr is a nice phone, clean looking. I don't use the MP3 player aspect of it really though, because I don't want to pay for them through Verizon.

I've bought one of each, a ringtone and an MP3 from Verizon, just to try it out. Then when I connect to the phone with Bluetooth, I can see the folders on the phone. Problem is there's a folder for MP3s and ringtones, neither of which have anything in them...even though I've bought some.

Anyone have any links to forums or sites to try and hack this shit? I google, but just get bullshit ads.

Word - I'm excited about the new wi-fi phones...that would be kick ass if/when it actually worked.

Oh - be very very careful if you go hunting on the interwebs for cell phone hacks/cracks...be sure you have a good firewall/antivirus. Oh, and don't be offend by porn.
