Thats kind of a silly thing to say. Why? Because most road cars (not cars built for race use only) that perform well, have had some thought put into how they sound at different rpms and so forth. Every company worth its money puts some thought into exhaust sound. They dont just slap tubing together and magically get Ferrari's exhaust note or Lexus's angry growl. Companies also have to think about how loud the exhaust is, seeing as most countries have a limit to how loud cars can be. So I think it is safe to say that all performance cars built for the road go through some sort of "tuning" proses.
The sound of the car is also part of the car as much as its performance. Most people who buy these cars do not buy them because they take them to the track every weekend. They buy them because they are an icon and a piece they can show off along with their expensive watches. A new ///M car needs to be a balance of performance, function and comfort and appeal to all your senses.Last edited by deutschman; 04-14-2012, 10:07 AM.sigpic
