it costs more to execute someone (via lethal inj.) than to detain them for life...and yes, bullets are cheap...but throwing to the masses is even cheaper
i can just picture a couple of rednecks with their hands on saddam...squeal piggyComment

i totally agree, save everyone the money by just killing those fuckers in a day or two, not 15 years.Comment

he was hung inside the Abu Ghrab prison where he used to hang is political foes. also, the judge had to sign a red execution order card. Saddam installed the red execution card himself when he was in power. the whole thing was very apropos.
did anyone else think when he was hanging there that the way the light fell on his face and the shadows would have made a great portrait? soft lighting and everything.
the only thing that i wished would have happened was that they put the noose behind his head instead of on the side so it wouldn't have snapped neck. let him struggle a little.Originally posted by Hawt drift chickYeah, i'm a good dude i swear, i just like to be balls to the wall.Comment

The "Deal" is that he's already dead. I just think it's hard for them to make a 100% confirmation of it. This guy was putting out videos every other week leading up to 9/11, and in the following weeks. After the assault on Afghanistan and Tora Bora, the videos stopped. Now, in the last five years, all we've gotten are two or three horrible quality audio tapes "allegedly" from Bin Laden, and some of the lower level Al Queda guys talking. The only guy that has made any actual mention of current events has been Al-Zawhari.
If, for some reason he's still alive, and I sincerely doubt it, you have to figure that he'd still be in the Afghan/Pakistan mountain ranges, amongst a population that does not like or support the US, and that has no desire to see him leave or be capture. It's pretty easy to hide someone in a remote area when we can't go in.

Man, you think that the private bounty hunters would be hard at it on this, I mean last I heard the bounty was $50 Mill.
I think we would have been better off assassinating Saddam, and maybe that's what happened to Osama. It would be a lot quicker, no intervention on the part of any other countries via the U.N.
It just seems strange that if we had killed him already that we don't have definitve proof.
Heck, I'm still trying to figure out how things shifted onto Saddam when Osama was public enemy #1.
It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.Comment

Funny how we put him in power and we took him out. We gave him much of what he had and he abused it. I would rather have seen him tortured...seriously.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

Ah, we TOTAL backed the guy and helped him get into power. That's very well known.
How often do we give weapons to people we don't want in power...Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.
