    LG Chocolate

Anybody have one or know anybody that has one? It's time to pick up a new phone and it seems to be the only promising new entry to Verizon's line up. I've read some positive reviews, but I'd like to hear some real world opinions on longevity and such.

I'm going to go with the black one, and probably pick up the music kit and a 2gb microSD card for it since I don't own an iPod. It'd probably be good for a short play list to listen to while I am skating.

My girlfriend has it and wont stop talking about how she hates it? I dont know why, it looks pretty sweet. She says it wont stop making random calls to people because of how it is touch sensitive instead of push button. Maybe thats just because its kept in a purse instead of pocket? That's all I know.

That's strange, from my understanding those touch sensitive keys are inactive until you press a button on the side to activate them, or slide the phone open.

Go away fag, that has nothing to do with this thread.

my ex gf has one. and she loves it. I played with hers for a little bit, but the buttons take some time to get use to. It's a badass phone, lots of features. i wouldn't mind having one. but i have a white samsung sghd807, samsung and cingular is where its at!

but once again, my only complaint was the buttons. but i looked like a fool when the ex gf was just flying through her phone since she is use to it. go for it, they are the new hip thing, you hipster.

You said that the Chocolate was one of the only promising phones in the new line up from Verizon and its not, the chocolate is shitty coming from a friend. He hates it and I have heard others complain about it too. I love my Q and it is in the new line up from verizon...so stop being a fuck about helping you out

You didn't help me. I hate PDA's and no where in my thread did I say I was looking for a brick to keep in my pocket. Go away.

The Chocolate is not my kind of phone. I guess my thumbs are too big or something. I hate the navigation menu. Not user friendly at all IMO.

I have the LG EnV which I chose over the Motorola Q. I didn't go with a pocket pc or any smart phone as it was overkill for my application and too pricey. Considering my cellphone is my only device for phone usage I need something robust, not too fancy and a decent battery life. The EnV is easy to use, battery life is ok as well.

The EnV automatically locks the keypad when not used after a certain period and I have not dialed anyone mistakenly unlike my buddies who have the smartphones and Moto Q.

A brick, have you ever seen/held a Q? Hardly a brick. Its barely bigger than a closed razor. You don't have to have PDA either...theres the windows version so its a computer haha. And yes I did help you by telling you that the Q is a good phone and its a lot better than the piece of shit chocolate.

So you want advice, don't get the shitty chocolate. Everyone I know doesn't like it and wish it would go away so good luck with it.

It seems like the micro keyboard would be even harder to use if you've got big thumbs. I sort of like phones like the enV but I had the "Sidekick" image they have. I have never seen an enV in person though.

I like the navigation/menus of the Chocolate, mainly because its different than that normal dreary Verizon standardized menu that comes on so many of the Verizon phones these days.

verizon and decent phone selection are two mutually exclusive events within the time/space paradox.

                          it just never happens.

if you consider switching to GSM, i would recommend SonyEricsson. good cameras, excellent media player (4 gigs+ storage), and great battery.

                          but that's gsm.

The microkeyboard is only used when texting. To navigate through the main menu you can customize the 4 way nav. keys with your desired menus.

Most Verizon phones have their customized navigation app. with the Get it Now etc (I don't use that service). I have my menu customized to suit my use and I am happy with it. Just as most other applications - personal opinions vary ;)
