How do you work in Photoshop with a transparent background? I always loved that on Macs but can't figure out how to do that with my PC. I hate that plain grey background that is the default.

I have no intentions of switching to Vista anytime soon. There's a very informative article in this month's issue of Maximum PC that is 10 very good reasons on why there's no immediate need to switch. I have never had a single problem with XP, and if it ain't broke, don't go installing a new Microsoft product on it.
The bad press vista has received has pissed me off to no end. Most of the people who hate it (not saying you) are hating it just because they are basing it off of biased information (such as that DRM crap that EVERYBODY says kills vista, yeah thats bullshit)

I've been running Vista since the early Alphas when it was a glorified Windows XP, and its been awesome since day one. Its a great upgrade over XP (which I consider a bloated piece of shit)...not that Vista is NOT bloated, but it does a damn good job of not getting in my way..
