Alas, I digress. This is an e30 board, not a computer board. I use Windows to play some games and type German papers :D I use Linux for everything else.

Go torrent a program called WindowsBlinds. Or WindowBlinds, something to that effect. I know Josh mentioned it in another thread, but its a very cool program, custom made everything to change XP to Vista style stuff, even a skin that mocks Vista in every way. Neat stuff. Oddly enough, the skin I am using now is made by someone called "Mtechnik".

I also have DeadAIM, a crack so its free, and an old version of AIM (5.5.3595) that has transparency effects as well. I have it for anyone that wants it...

WindowsBlinds and all those program eat your resources like crazy though...then again, my computer is old school so I try minimize the amount of processes runnin, haha

esentially this is all Vista is.

If you peel away all the bullshit (and i have) Vista is really just Windows XP Sp3. They added a bunch of pretty, and virtually, useless features for those who are in a non-professional environment. You can pull everything away so it is windows XP with a skin. Just get windowblinds and get the Vista theme on it. Then you dont have to deal with the new crap MS is putting in vista.

The only reason I would consider going to vista, and this is because I am in IT, is they changed how its imaged and installed so it is more easily deployed. Otherwise, Im sticking to Xp (which is an update of win2k, which is an update of winNT) for a while.

Vista has serious flaws as well as being huge and a serious memory/resources hog.

I took it off my tertiary system faster than I reverted to 98se from ME in 2000.
