Don't get me started. WA state patrol is under the D.O.T. budget, so they get the creme of the crop gear, while county sheriff dept. have to hold bake sales to get stuff.
Literally.
In WA staters are known as revenue cops. They don't even hold an EMT Basic, which is 200 hrs initial, 80 hrs annual maint. - So when they get to a accident they are virtually useless compared to county sheriffs who ARE all EMT Basics in WA. So are all full time firefighters.
Obviously EMT services are EMT - Paramedics.
Sadly, I as a EMT Basic was a ranking medical officer if I was on scene with only state troopers, who were "First Responders" - puleeze, that's barely more than a "first aid" card that most industrial employers hold classes for their employees.
Due to an injury at work, I'm forced to (actually, get to) choose a new career path. I intend to pursue a education in law, maybe even at some point pursue politics. I'll start with a city council position and see if I want to go any further.
I have my own agenda when it comes to state troopers, we'll leave it at that for now.
I'm not anti-law, since I read over all that and it may seem like I am.
I fully support our local sheriffs, and to a slightly lesser degree the city cops, as they are the ones who get the really crappy calls, like shots fired, drug related crimes, violent scenes, crazy weird search & rescue scenarios, etc. They are the real grunts of law, and deserve the respect I show them.

THAT is why i have absolutely no respect for the CHP! instead of looking for drunk drivers or other miscreants. they sit around waiting to catch someone speeding. I have 100% more respect for police officers than chp. police officers are the only upholders of the law that actually earn their pay f*ck highway patrolmen!

I know by this statement you don't own a gun, nor have you probably ever fired one. I know without asking that the ballistics signature of some of my more upper crust firearms are on record at the manufacturer. If you want to go snipe some cameras either go .177 HMR or .22 subsonic, or even and preferably - a .177 pellet gun. All you need to do is break the lense.
But if you want to go getting your $3K gun taken and a hefty prison term feel free to use a tank killer of a gun. You do know that Armalite gives you a pack of asprin with the purchase of an AR - 50, right? Seriously.

i've never fired anything but .45 and .357 pistols. now that I think about it, using a .50 cal on a camera would be a huge waste of expensive ammo.

Drove the M1 to scotland couple years ago from London, and if you go 80 in a 70 you'll get a ticket but if you go 110 the camera speed is not set for this and by the time it takes a picture your out of the frame. haha At least it worked for me, were my professor got a ticket for 86mph in a 70mph

there is one benefit: the courts (at least the one in our county) don't really take the WASP too seriously. I have met some really cool WASP officers but most of them are idiots with a power trip.. the judges know this and will drop a ticket instantly if you have a decent argument. :)
