My friend and I used to practice driving with our knees and our hands out the sunroof so this one day some guy was next to us in an E38, we were in the E34 at the time. So we explained to him at the stoplight that its one of those brand new BMWs that drives themselves, BMW just decided to go retro with it because though they are looking towards the furture of automobiles they want to always bring back classic BMW design. He kind of had that look of "I paid 80 grand for this and I'm driving it myself like a sucker" as we let the car drive us away.

Funniest was probably this one lady at a shopping center, she came running (I mean running) over to me as I was getting into my car. She excitedly asked "Is that the new 3 series!?!". I laughed a bit, told her it was 20 years old and took it as a compliment. My dad says he's gotten the same question a few times whilst driving his cabriolet.

Other than that, I've had people argue with me that my car is a diesel or a fwd, as if they would know better than I would.

You should have given him one of those printed flyers so that he could come to the site and get flamed for his stupid questions.

Apparently he couldn't figure out how to get his center console out. After he got that vital information, he walked away.
Sounds like some people we've had on here.
