Save yourself the trouble and have her put down. Otherwise board her in a nice kennel and go out and visit with her every day.

This kind of comment needs further explaination, otherwise I've got more room in my house for stray dogs than you & your ignorance.

        Precisely my point.

People are willing to make more provisions for unwanted animals than they are for unwanted humans.

Oh, so this is one of those "social injustice" comments - look, I'm all for spay and neutering dogs if you can't take on the complete responsibility of a litter, just like a real life pregnancy. You bring a life into this world, you better own up, people, animal, whatever.

I can't control others, but I don't have any human kids, just my dog. I wear rubbers when it's a new girl, and my dog is neutered, just so you see that I walk the talk.

When it comes to puppies, especially bull terriers, I have more sympathy because a dog is just doing what they do, humans know better than to procreate if they can't follow up with responsibility for their child. And if you give a dog a good home, and always treat it right, they will NEVER turn on you, or leave you wondering what the heck the problem is - any dog you have from a puppy stage on, you have complete control of how it will react, people are a total wild card.

So, do you take in orphans? I'm going to be working in an orphanage this summer that my sister & brother-in-law run, just so you know a little more about me. If you don't have any orphans, adopted kids, or 'down on their luck' adults living in your home, you ought to check your last comment, and come at me with something better.

But thanks for bumping the thread, and helping get this dog a home.

Matt, hope you can get this little girl - if you know you can keep her for life.

I didn't know that I came at you with something "good". Heck, I didn't even know that this was some sort of competition. I better run for it!
            LOL!

What do you mean by "bumping the thread"? I am completely clueless. But I guess if it makes an unwanted animal into a wanted animal, that must be a good thing.

Sorry, I had to. I know it's a lame thing, but you just made it too easy.

                      Thanks M!

He's my boy. I will do anything for him, he's my little boy, especially since I don't have any kids. I'm not sure I even want kids, I love bull terriers/ bull terrier mixes that much.

You ever thought about just closing the hole that makes you appear dumber every time you open it?

                          Seriously.

Besides, the chocolate thing is a myth, just like the "Pitbulls have super-duper strong bites" - they are no different then any other dog.

Nice human.....would you like some anthrax?

Yeah.. you are right.. when I was kid we used to feed the neighborhood dog chocolate all of the time and it never seemed to affect him. Well no.. I take that back- It made the dog more hyper. LOL This was one of those alaskan huskies with the blue eyes. This dog was aparently stray for a very long time because he would go into the woods and get rabbits, birds and other small animals. Once, I recall a neighbor giving the dog a couple of deer legs.. which was kind of disgusting because the dog would carry the leg around every where he went. He would nibble on it a little and then go do something and come back later to nibble on it some more.. It was really scary to see the dog bring the deer leg to the bus stop in the morning.

I would beg to differ about the strength of a bit-bull's bite. Granted any german shepard, great dane on schnauser could do some serious damage but a pit has the capability of doing far more damage. One of my neighbors has a scottish terrier that pulls just as hard as any other dog but fortunately you can pick him up if he gets out of control.

I thought about raising a couple of dogs myself to be used as assistance animals for the blind and handicapped. I figure that if you are going to get a dog, get one that can do something useful. A blind guy got angry with me a couple of months ago because I was petting his dog. I didn't realize at the time that the guy was blind or that the animal was "on duty" but that got us talking about the subject. He explained that the trick to the seeing eye dog is to teach him to tell you what he "thinks" about a given situation- He won't run out into the street and get himself run over even though he would typically care less about what a human being decides to do. So when you want to cross the street, the dog will not go.. and if you choose to walk out there anyway, the dog will let you go.. so then he is also trained to walk in front of you to stop you as his way of saying, "hey wait! Hold up"

So I asked him if you insist on ignoring the dog what will happen? He told me that the dog will probably say to himself, "Well.. I tried to tell you...watch out for that....WHAM! Ooohh.. thats gotta hurt!" and we had a good laugh over that.

For myself I would like to train a search dog so that I can find things like my remote, my keys, the cell phone and anything else I lose on a regular basis.
