    Car Dealership Equipment

    Hey guys,
I am getting a parking pass for campus this quarter. The bad thing about it is it is a sticker and they want me to put it on my bumper....NO WAY!

I was thinking about buying a license plate holder, like the ones that car dealerships have and just shut the tabs in the trunk with the license plate hanging.

Does anyone know where I can get this stuff? I was thinking about getting a lincense plate cover and just doing it like that but it would kinda suck to have to unscrew my license plate every day.

    Thanks
    DJ

that makes little sense considering bumper paint is often supplemented with a softening agent to allow the bumper to flex without cracking the paint.. the downside is that the paint will be more susceptible to peeling when a strong adhesive is removed. that rubber frame looks dumb, but hey, it works. good luck

I was thinking the same thing but I have to consider that I will be kind of in downtown Columbus and I would have to pay for another if someone took it.

I would do this but the school wants it on the rear of the car.

All of these are ideas I have went through but for safety and having to be on the rear of the car it seems that the license plate holder might be a good idea. Unless someone else has other ideas.

              Thanks

if you were to get a ticket someone would listen to reason but nobody is going to bother you

Just put in on the black bumper trim and call it a day. It should remove easily from that without damage.

When I was in Hawaii I noticed that just about everyone had a registration sticker on their bumper but some people had little plastic pieces that mount under the bumper to put the stickers on. Talk to one of the Hawaiian members of the board and see if they can snag one for ya.

I was thinking about just putting it on my bumper but didn't know how or if it would come off without a fight. Or if there would be a lot of residue left after it was taken off.

Purdue: Thanks for the heads up, I will try to find a member from HI.

If it was me, I'd either just stick it on the bumper, or sandwich a thin piece of abs plastic between your plate and the car, and have it stick out to 1 side as much as you need for the size of the sticker. Make it big enough to use both plate screws so it won't swivel, and put some electrician tape on the backside to save the paint. Then you would have a tab that hangs out for the sticker, and you just remove the whole thing and throw it away when you are done needing it, or if you change cars you could move it from car to car.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.
