moron proof Jukebox style media player?

Anybody know of a decent jukebox style media player? Basically so people could choose a song from the library that queue's it up. I know winamp and other all do this but are there any that are drunk/selfish/moron proof so that people cant fuck up the existing list?
Another way of putting it- people are allowed to queue songs but can't edit/rearrange/delete the list?

And in usual e30 owner style freeware would be even better.

    Cheers

    itunes

seriously. winamp sucks.. playlists in itunes are way better. I don't buy shit from the store though, way to expensive for lossy crap DRM'd files.

IMO the things you can do with the winamp media library/playlists are far superior to that of itunes. Itunes is nothing more than ridiculous bloated crap software that gives you way too much shit you don't need without choice*. Itunes just doesnt cut it in ANY category for me. No plugin support...Total system resource HOG...Shitty XML Style media library that can break extremely easily....the fact that itunes can reorganize your library entirely if you make a couple false moves...built on FreeBSD yet they cant port it over to linux? SCARY....actually no...they just know that any competent linux user won't waste their time with it!

Just because winamp doesnt come setup as you need it doesnt mean it cant be tweaked to do so.

The solution for your problem is pretty simple. You want to be able to have people queue up items from the media library without them truncating your entire playlist. In essence what you need to do is change your media library to enqueue items that are double clicked rather than playing them and clearing the list.

To set this up do the following:
      Run winamp
Ctrl + P to open Prefrences
Move to the Media Library section
Under Library Options change the first dropdown box FROM:

      "Plays selected item(s)"

      TO

      "Enqueues selected item(s)"

Now close the prefrences and you're good to go. If you really dont want people screwing with the playlist and only want stuff to get queued up at this point simply close the playlist editor. :)

      Problems solved.

I also suggest using winamp as an Itunes replacement for your ipod as well.

If you havent looked into ML_ipod before you should. Manage your ipod within your winamp Media Library. You can sync up all of your ratings, play counts, album art etc.

      Good luck.

Thanks man, I'm aware of the enqueue settings though.
Maybe moron was the wrong word, most people are able to work winamp and want their own songs on, NOW.

I was more looking for something that can be pass-worded to prevent deleting or shifting songs up the list but still allows people to add songs they want.

            Cheers

I tried going to iTunes for a while, I seriously couldn't stand it. And I really tried to like it, and learn everything with it. I'm just too happy with Winamp. Never had a single issue with it, super simple, and the skins are infinite. I've actually found one I really like, and have had it for a long time now.
