People are generally stupid / ignorant / inattentive when it comes to older cars I think. Most people don't look twice at my E28 even though it's much cooler looking than your standard E28 that you might see running around. It's got a fairly aggressive stance, large wheels with large tires, it just looks mean. Most of the people who compliment me on it owned one, wanted one, or drive an E30!

And for some reason, most of the E30 drivers that I've talked to about E28s think they are the pimp shit. It cracks me up!

A 6 series on the other hand... Everyone notices the 6 (I should say noticed :( ), everyone looked as I drove by. It was low, wide, long... super sharky nose, just a sexy ass car in general. The 6 gets attention, and most E30 and E28 guys think they are the pimp shit. As it turns out, they are correct :pimp:

Everyone who knows me, knows NOT to mess with my cars. I take great pride in the things that I own, whether it's as nice as a brand new Bimmer or not. In high-school, I drove a 66 Plymouth Valiant with FLAWLESS original paint. Some dipshit who didn't like me because his cousin didn't like my friend... Decided to key it all the way into the body from front to back on both sides...... I'll just say, he's really lucky I didn't find him when I went looking for him after school. BUT... He lived a ways from the school, and he rode A BIKE to school. So some friends and I took a sawzall from our class one day, and cut his bike in half.

Taught that fucker and his cousin not to touch my cars.

I dont think anyone thats not into old school bimmers really respects my car(s). People tend to wonder why you dont have the newer models because thats all they value. And therefore assume that you cant afford it. If they knew how much Ive dumped into the ///M3 alone..... plus the styling is soooo far away from whats being put out now. Boxy tends to denote old. Fuck em. Im in love and thats all that matters.

Some guy in a Boxster S talked shit to me on the road once, wiped the ugly toothy smile off his face when he tried to pass me on the highway. Thats the kind of people we have here, buy cars 100% based on the name, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, etc... But they are all the shithole base models that cost like 50k, nothing great at all. I'll pay anyone cash money to find a 911 here, all you will find are stupid boxters

word. Minnesota sucks for real cars. When I lived there, I saw 12 BMWs in 12 months. That's including the 4 I owned while I was there.

Although, in the summer there was some pretty nice muscle running around. Not into it though, so I could barely appreciate.

Haha, unfortunately I don't have a single picture from when my 6 was riding on freshly painted and polished Style 5s... It only lasted for a few weeks and at the time I didn't own any sort of digital camera :(

It's an '81 Euro spec with full Alpina suspension, black leather Recaros, the air dam with fog light holes (looks "sharper" than any of the other air dams) and an M-Tech rear spoiler. Pretty hot.

If my 335i sells I've got another Euro 6 series, an '84 this time, that I have promised the owner (and myself) that I'm gonna buy. I'll definitely post some pics if it goes down....

Well, around here, a BMW is a BMW, but this is a very special country, about 80% of the people will buy cars because they are new, they suppose that new cars are better, so they will go car shopping and come back with a Kia or a Daewoo and feel they are hor because it's new, But the other 20% will rather own a 20 year old BMW, Mercedes, Volvo or Porsche instead of the new cheap cars.

Of course, when the Daewoos fall apart after 3 years all we say is "I told you so".

An people do not respect cars either, since everybody has 100% insurance, they get all these dings, scratches, and dents, and send the car to be fixed and painted once a year, the repairs suck and the cars look worse and worse, so they don't mind denting your car either, as someone pointed out earlier, cars are just transportation means to them.

Now I don't care much, bit when i finish painting my car, if someone slams his door against it "I'll stab him in the eyes" (I'm quoting George Carlin here)

Not just because my car is getting the best paintjob i can give it, but because i'm doing it myself and it's a shitload of work and sweat, when you do this amount of work yourself and someone ruins it you don't want to kill them, you want to torture them. :!:
