The last time they predicted hail, I bought an 8 man tent for about $50 and parked the car inside of it. They were calling for golf-ball sized hail but it ended up not being that bad and nobody sustained any damage. The tent can resist wind and rain with enough weight and coverage on the floor so I imagined that hail could not do much to the tent either. -
I remember that, i was on 2ed shift at the time and they let us go home early. We was like WTF, what's it going to do? Travel up the Potomac River and get us.Leave a comment:

I have a 89 325is with hail damage all the way around it.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT DO WHAT THE PO DID TO MY CAR! PARK IT IN A GARAGE, UNDER A OVERPASS, PUT A PILLOW BLANKET ON IT, LAY OVER IT, ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!
I am bitter because I have to fix the car - panel by panel. I am going new with many items just because it is cheaper than fixing it when you look at the time and material needed to do the job correctly. Then in the end you have a trunk/hood with mud in it. ghey.Leave a comment:

There's a parking lot structure that stays open 24/7 at a Kaiser Permanente. Parked it there once when we had a hurricane warning (for MD wtf).
Not the safest place to leave it, but its not far from my home and it saved my car from falling tree branches and such. Probably going to leave it there tomorrow, we have a big storm coming this way.Leave a comment:

A microburst sent golf to baseball size hail through my town last summer. I was working at the pool at the time and just had to sit and watch from the guard shack while my car got pelted. Hood and trunk lid have about 40 dimples each, but the rest of the car turned out ok with just a few dents.Leave a comment:

It started hailing out of no where on Tuesday, only the 3rd or so time I've ever seen hail in FL. It was small so no damage done to the cars, thankfully.Leave a comment:

I was getting ready to move from West Texas to Maryland. The packers were at the house, packing all my crap up. The garage was the last to get packed, and is where they had staged a bunch of other boxes, so it was pretty much full of junk. This was to be my last day in Texas.
Hail storm blew in, accompanied by tornado sirens and such. It moved FAST, and there was nothing I could do - there was no room for the car (a 1996 Impala SS) and there was no where to go.
Every single body panel was dented - hood, trunk, roof, all four doors, the fenders, the quarter panels.
Repair bill came to over $6k.Leave a comment:

I lived in Decatur, IL for most of my life till i moved back here. I remember a storm that came through with hail a little bigger then a golf ball and smaller then a baseball. That was a sight to see and hear

One HAIL of a Friday the 13th...
damn, I just got home from the shop. We had cars packed in there about an inch from each other. The hail was not that bad, about the size of a dime or so. The tornado sirens were going off as well. However there were reports of tea-cup sized hail outside of Ft. Worth. Hail, second only to tornados, is the shit I most hate about Texas' weather......
I've heard of people putting pillows under a car cover and still finding a few dings.Leave a comment:
