From experience, air hockey is ghey and gets played out in a hurry, and worthless except as chick bait as girls dig it(IDK why). Foosball tables rock, just get a good one. I've got a Tornado Tourney table, and it is killer. The nice thing about Valley/Dynamo/Tornado is they are bar grade, so all parts are built tough, but available in case of breakage. I encourage people to play rough, and we've only broken 2 men - and they are replaced easy enough. It's not a Sears table in any way - we'll have 4 guys on it playing at full tilt and the feet never move on the carpet. It goes an easy 300#'s.

I've got an original bar-box 8 x 4 pool table built by Valley in the late 20's - I've talked to them about it, and even they don't have records on it, because they were just starting as a company. It spent the 50's & 60's in Canada, then came back to the States, and after finishing the house my parents recovered it in the mid 70's - it wore that felt until I took it over and let a buddy go wild on it (he does it by trade) - for $200 of felt, and $35 worth of bumper rubber, it now plays better than I have skill.

So to anyone in the market for a table, get a Valley bar-box (don't pay more than a grand), and get it recovered and a new set of balls. You will have a killer table that's cheap, but has a few dents so you won't care what gets added. Best of all worlds.

Mercury Ultra felt, Aramith balls, 1 piece bar cues FTW.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

They always have like Metal Slug, 1942, Samurai Showdown, or things like that. And the cool thing about them is they're cartridge-based, so you can change the games in them.
        Sweet,

I will look that up! Thanks

I had a major social event at my house when I had originally finished the game room. People brought their kids over so let them have fun in the game room while we played cards, monopoly, and chess in the family room. Turns out that they broke my air hockey table and nobody said anything about it.

Granted that stuff wears out and screws will come loose and eventually the constant use and wear and tear is going to cause something to eventually break. So I don't mind when that happens, HOWEVER, one of the goals on my air hockey table came loose and the cover was skewed off to the side of the table and nobody said a thing about it. They just kept playing the game until the problem got worse and eventually the goal cover broke completely off.. and STILL nobody said anything yet they kept on playing. Eventually the air hockey table fell apart to the point where it was no longer functional and everyone walked away from it. So when I inquired as to what happened, nobody seemed to know how it got broken or who did it.

So now if I do allow people to bring their kids, I have the room supervised at all times.
And you'll loose bigtime playing against kids... :D

Bar signs are great. You know beer neons and such. Tap handles are a cool thing. my buddy has over 200, he built a wall just to show some off.

Couch and a recliner are a must, as well as a poker table. Darts and a small chalk board for keeping scores!

                rev party at Ty's!

If my outside gets done I would certainly entertain an after picnic party, I am on a main road so parking is no sweat. Super close to alki as well. Let's play it by ear but it would be super fun.

Still need to find a pub table and some super cool wall art. I actually found a Panari Ferrari wall clock but was out bid. Also on bay found a 6 foot light BMW sign.

Actually I whip up on them pretty badly to the point where the games are no longer fun.

I had a lot less in life than you @ 26, you're well on your way. Besides, CA is $$$ just to live - we're closing in on you all up here in WA, but housing costs down there eat into a guy's toy budget pretty decent from what I hear. I'd kill to have your car at any age anyhow, let alone you're give/take half a decade younger than me or Tyler.

Time's on your side, brother, time's on your side.

Back on track, what the heck is bubble hockey? I hope it's not that stupid game from when we were kids with the clear dome where the guys just slid in a track & pivoted. My bud had that game, but it was lame.
