If you allow yourself to keep thinking about things like that, you will be the only one miserable while your friend is enjoying himself in a better place.Leave a comment:

The point here is that you can achieve such a thing because he was NOT SOMEONE CLOSE TO YOU, when the person that dies IS CLOSE TO YOU you DO dwell on the matter, and years might go by with you asking yourself "why didn't I call him on the cellphone at that exact time, or invite him to lunch that day", etc.
My condolescences and I will pray for him and his family, I know it's hard, but be close to them and support them in any way you can, it's really hard to lose a son or brother, it is on times like these where your friendship extends past death to his loved ones until they don't need it anymore.

Actually getting shot 15 times in the back while cheating on your spouse is a terrible way to go.
Loss of life is always painful for the survivors whether it was a good way or bad way to go. But I figure that dying in a skateboard accident isn't the worst thing that can happen to a person. Its just one of those unexpected mishaps that causes the loss of life.
I am sure if your friend could talk to you right now, you and he would be having a good laugh about how he totally wiped out. And I am sure that if it were the other way around, you would not want your friend to be sad and all messed up over the situation. You would want him to go on with life. Now if your friend got shot at VT last week he would probably be screaming "AVENGE ME! Don't let me die in vain! Make those suckers pay!"
So on one hand, it could have been much much worse, but on the other hand I know that you wish it was different. It surely was not supposed to end this way and if you could turn the clock back a few days that would make all of the difference.
Sometimes I even think about what if something happened to my closest friends and if I could really cope with the loss REGARDLESS of how they died and if I thought it was senseless or just a minor mishap. And what I find so interesting about losing close friends and loved ones is that their death is so surreal. It just seems so inconcieveable that they are gone. I was talking to them yesterday and everything seemed fine. Today they are gone permanently. I wish I could explain it to myself and justify it in my own mind but sometimes I really cant.
So the best way for me to cope is to not dwell on something that I had no control over. I mean if I had the power to reverse death, I would have something to be upset about if my friend died.Leave a comment:

yea its a bit rough. i quit skateboarding after i had my first knee surgery. i figured that keeping on would just make things worse. In one way, im glad he was doing what he loved when he was injured, but on the other hand, what a terrible way to go.Leave a comment:

That's insane man, sorry to hear about your loss. People getting hurt like this makes me reconsider what I do when I skate. I have permanately messed up my shoulders from a few skating accidents, and my friend broke his hand last week and has to wear a cast for 7 weeks. It sucks that you can get so hurt doing something so fun!Leave a comment:

thanks scotty for your um concern. Anyway he wasnt wearing a helment and i think he may have been freebording down a pretty decent hill. they dont really know what happened. someone just found him on the side of the road unconcious. And yes they are donating his organs, not selling. Because where yes it is capitalistic, its still kinda hard when youre son dies. Im sure the last thing that his parents are thinking about is "hmm i bet we can get 50k a piece for his eyes." honestly scotty, i appreciate your alternative perspectives on things sometimes. But i seriously wonder if you have ever lost anyone close to you.Leave a comment:
