    Ebay M20s

Do the seller's really think or do they actually sell M20s for ~$900-$1000? That seems very steep and I don't think anyone would pay that much for a used beat M20. I figured the going rate was around $500 max.

    $500 for a used m20 isnt bad. If you want a rebuilt m20, I'll sell you mine for $1400 + shipping ;)

Are you serious? Maybe its because I'm in a big populated area and I know a handful of junkyards around here, but I would not pay more than $200 for a long block.

Plus, I wouldnt trust buying something like a motor off eBay. By the time the motor arrives and is installed, too much time will go by and Paypal/eBay wont do anything if by any chance the motor is bad already.

Yeah I think prices really depend on your area, I would guess places like socal would be really spendy, but up here in MN I can get a whole m20 with trans and electronics for like $300

Why would it be more spendy? E30s are everywhere in SoCal = dirt cheap prices.

I couldn't GIVE AWAY my M20 longblock in FL. I put it in a dumpster.

I'm not looking to buy, I'm looking more to sell. I wasn't really sure what my asking price would be. I guess its all regional.

the thing is alot of the engines you see on ebay are being sold by bavarian engine recyclers so theyre going to be grosely overpriced

That's what I figured. All their engines are overpriced.

They probably get over on people who know no better. A jasper engine costs $3300 minus a $400 core so $1000 is a bargain for someone prepared to buy a shortblock engine from the auto parts store.
