I remember all of Brasil shut down for days. As a kid and huge fan, surrounded by a whole country of fans, I was crushed. I quit watching F1 after his departure.
"If I ever happen to have an accident that eventually costs me my life, I hope it is in one go. I would not like to be in a wheelchair. I would not like to be in a hospital suffering from whatever injury it was. If I'm going to live, I want to live fully. Very intensely, because I am an intense person. It would ruin my life if I had to live partially." (January 1994, 4 months prior to his death)
As a person and as a pilot, you were and will always be a hero to me Senna.
I was just into watching F1 racing when Senna passed. Didn't see the actual race which took his life, but plenty of aftermath footage and the remainder of that season.
The Senna name lives on in racing though - Bruno Senna (nephew to Aryton).

Wow, I have never been a fan of F1 and never knew about Senna, I was like 9 at the time. I just watched some videos on youtube. Did he just go straight, head on with the wall. Did he pass away on impact?
