the first day I drove to school in Boise, I drove my dad's 1990 535i to school - since we only had three cars at the time, he drove his 95 M3 to work, and my mom drove her 2000 528iT.
That day, some kids threw basketballs at it! NOT KIDDING! I could see the marks where the balls had hit the car - thankfully no dents were mad. Yea, I was a little pissed, and didn't understand why it was done - not my fault they sucked at life. One of the balls hit the fuel door, breaking the plastic hinge. Fixed the hinge, and continued driving to school. No unfixable damage was made, so life went on.
No one seems to understand. When I drove that car back in junior year, it had over 170,000 miles on it, and was made in 1990. Then, it was maybe worth 7 to 8 grand. That old five series is STILL WORTH less than HALF THE CARS that high schoolers have their mommies and daddies buy them.
To have someone get shit for an e30 is rediculous! I got crap from some lady the other day - I mentioned I wanted to save money by going to a car wash that charged 1.75 instead of 2.00 (r3v fashion...:)) and she's like, "That shouldn't matter, you have a BMW, money shouldn't be a problem." I was just dumbfounded...I said, "My car was purchased for 2 grand, and it's 20 years old." She continued though, saying "it's still a BMW." Yea...a BMW - go drive your 2002 Ford Explorer, ya bitch. LOL Oh, and at one point, she told me I could use the soap on that NASTY ASS brush...instead of my own. (UHHH...no thanks...). I explained I was trying to preserve my wax, and she says, "OHH, YEAAA...you have a BMW...I'm not good enough to know how to clean it." she said something along those lines.
When she left, I was just thinking, "Yea, enjoy your piece of shit that still cost more than my car ya bitch. And I hope you never drive a BMW." But, I waved and said have a nice day. LOL
Thankfully, a lot of people like my car here at college - they say it looks awesome, and give me props for it. And, of course, everyone knows it's my car, cause it's literally one of 3 BMWs that live on campus, and by far the nicest. But, if anything ever happened to it - if it got keyed...yea, I'd be pissed and sad. But, you know what? I plan on overhauling the car after college anyway. I don't think anything will happen though. There are kids here that drive brand new mustangs and just newer cars in general - so my car doesn't really stand out a whole lot. :)
