I'm with Josh and Trent on the homeless comments. Those people can't be generalized into the "they are there because they want to be" category, of course there are exceptions.
Living in Berkeley for a year led me to some very interesting experiences-
After asking for change, (of course I said no to him) half way through my short reply the bum BUSTED OUT HIS CELL PHONE- He was getting a call. I couldn't believe it.
I read an article a while ago that said that homeless people can make up to $120 bucks a day begging (in college communities). One guy even paid for his home in SF by begging. So in some respects, yes homeless people suck. But I'd say that most just no longer care about the way our society works, and they want something different/don't care about living in poverty as long as it means they don't have to do anything productive. And then of course, there are the ones that are just completely NUTS.Comment
