    e30 m3 vert?

I have the opportunity to import a 1988 m3 vert with just over a 100K, what do you think that it would be worth in the US?

Its in nice shape, but there isnt any service history. Have you ever seen any here in the states?

I'm pretty sure there are less than 10 AUTHENTIC M3 cabrios in the US.

This car is rare as rocking horse shit and worth some serious money. Make sure if you decide to buy that you have it inspected throroughly.

I tend to think the "wow" factor will go down just slightly once the moratoriam on euro cars not meeting emissions standards expires - it's either a 20 or a 25 year window, then you will see a **few** of these imported via Canada, then brought down here.

That said, right now it's still worth good money - and always will be, but to a lesser degree once the demand is met via the process I just described.

I bet 10 - 15 true Sport Evo's make it over, and a few cab's as well, just after the date they become quite easy to bring in. It would be a killer deal to own property in Canada, just to bring these in. I hear it's like $6k worth of import fees these days, but that figure and the headache of doing it drops a ton once the expiration date hits.

And none of the above is an original thought - there's a ton of guys waiting and pipe dreaming of bringing in a Rallye Golf once they expire too. Because of that, I bet the guys with disposable income to really bring in a nice example of any killer 80's vintage car are sitting back and waiting, since it's not far off at all.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

                      786 total e30 m3 convertibles produced.

~3-5 imported to the US/Canada so far

Are you aware of the import costs?

So is that the case with ANY car from overseas? I sure would like to get my hands on a "newer" older style beetle although from what I understand, they were banned from the US back in 1978 and VW kept manufacturing them in Mexico and selling them other places around the world.
