As far as im concerned they have no reason once so ever to dislike us. We don't move into there country by the thousands illegally waving american flags and demanding that they all learn english. Expecting them to change there country because of us. There are are still countries in the world that wont even let you become a citizen if you cant speak there language.

If they speak it poorly or not they are still TRYING to speak english.

All the mexicans that come here aren't on vacation. They are moving here illegally. If they were just on vacation I doubt anyone would have a problem with the fact that they don't speak english.

Again I don't think everyone here expects VISITORS to speak english but if someone is going to LIVE in the US permanently then yes they should learn english.

If I moved to Mexico tomorrow and no one could speak english to me then then how would I have the right to get all pissed and bent out of shape because of it. Its like moving Russia and getting mad when you find out people don't speak english. If you don't like it then leave. I just don't see how they expect us to all learn spanish and offer everything is spanish just to make things easier for them. Other counties don't do it why should we.

I find that incredibly hard to believe. You would be amazed at the amount of products you buy that come from or pass through Mexico, Central, and South America.

You would not sound like an idiot if would have said "Okay, you are no longer allowed to LIVE anywhere outside the United States."

Well, since we're having a discussion about immigrants learning english I feel that you should be an expert. The sad thing is that obviously you are not... Especially when you can't even manage to spell the word "families" correctly. Vacationing in a different country IS in fact different than going to live there. But many people in this thread expressed their dislike for basically anyone in the United States speaking only spanish(or another foreign language) while inside the Unites States. I simply stated that Americans do this year round while vacationing AND living in foreign countries.

My foot is not, and never has been IN my ass. Your juvenile personal attacks only further my opinions of your ignorance.

Dude this Country was built and founded without any form of assistance from any of those countries. There may be products coming over here today from those countries but we sure as shit don't NEED they're help.

Haha, what did that have to do with what I said? I never once said the United States NEEDED the other countries' help. I simply said that I find it highly unlikely that he has boycotted the use of any products that come from those countries.

            Do you drink coffee?
            Do you eat fruit?
            Do you buy oil? Gasoline?
            Sugar?

You'd be amazed the amount of products you can no longer eat/use when you begin boycotting every country south of the United States.

You're pretty much implying that we need them to survive. I'm just stating that we are very far from it. You said you are Irish right ? If I were you id do some more homework on my own heritage and see how hard they worked to build this country. Once you know all of that you will see that mexicans aren't trying as hard as you think they are.

Are you at all reading what I have posted my last two posts? I have never once said that the United States is completely dependant on these other countries. What I have said is that many Americans ARE dependant on the products of those countries.

I know my heritage. I'm not saying that they didn't work hard, or that the hispanic/spanish immigrants to this country deserve free hand-outs. But when you get a bunch of people sitting around talking about how annoyed they are with spanish people not speaking english... It strikes a bit of a soft spot, considering that my family LIVES in Costa Rica. I have a very large problem with the very hypocritical attitude that many Americans have towards the people of foreign countries.

I'm obviously reading a lot more than you are considering that the posts you have contributed to this thread have made either no or very little sense at all. If many Americans ARE dependant of the products these countries supply us with then yes it does sound like your IMPLYING that the US in general depends on them. I have not once said that is in fact what you are stating but its how its said. Many of those products you listed we do get from other countries as well. With that being said, it is easy to boycott products from those countries.

Is boycotting not a little extreme? You make it seem like you are funding terrorism. What if other countries were to take up your same concept and apply it in different forms; say not participate in free trade? Or pull a Chavez and whoever else. Do you view the US as a self-sustaining nation? We already know the US imports way more than it exports, hence the trade deficit. What if those countries were to say enough, get out. Are you familiar at all with the agreements the US and Brasil have made regarding Biotechnology, mainly Ethanol via imported Brazilian Sugar Cane and Soy beans and technologies? Of course there are alot of American Farmers that aren't happy about that. (do you farm by chance ;)) IMO your boycotting view is a bit radical. There is probably so much you do on any given day that is tied to products and/or services related to south of the border.... and the rest of the World.

Lol. Ethanol. Another liberal joke. And so what if my boycott is not radial? Do you hear me asking you to join? At least I am not pushing Spanish on you and making you push 1.

The posts I have contributed to this thread have been of a differing opinion than your own, and because of that you have chosen to believe that they "make little or no sense." My posts make perfect sense, you simply do not agree with them.

Just because many Americans depend on a product, or group of products, that does not mean that the United States as a whole depends on the product. Electricity is something that the United States would depend on. Coffee, sugar, and fruit are agricultural products that some Americans depend on. If you want to consider the American people and the United States as being one single thing, than yes... The United States IS IN FACT dependant on many of the countries south of the United States border.

I believe a large percentage of illegal immigrants don't speak English because they choose not to learn it. That in itself is disrespectful to this country and its residents. Also, I have a beef with illegal and legal immigrants alike because when they had their walkouts last year they waved Mexican flags. If they wanted the public support, they should have shown that they indeed live in the United States and are greatful for the opportunity by waving the flag of their new country. I wouldn't ask them to forget their culture, but merely become a functioning part of ours.
