Usually if its a specialized skill (like I.T.), the worker would probably go through the proper channels to get the necessary visas, work permits and whatever other paperwork needed in order to keep a great thing going. BUT lets take for instance fast food chains-

What if the fast food joints in French Canada were paying $40 an hour? Every uneducated drive thru worker in America would run to Canada and learn just enough of the language to get a job mopping the floor. And then before you know it, Canadian fast food resturants will be overrun with filthy uneducated non-french-speaking American border jumpers. Then the Canadian INS comes through, rounds up a bunch of these stupid yankees and deports them back to the US. And then we attempt to cross the border again tomorrow.

Its giving them a way to exist in life. None of them have a problem with what they are achieving in this country, The ones pictured are people that are 1st generarion americans that are teenage high schoolers and have NO idea whats going on and have a nationalistic ethnocentric view on life. Youre not actually comparing high school latinos to blue collar illegal immigrants, are you???

I never stated that everyone should think like me did I ? Thats just my opinion thats all. If I lived in below poverty standards then I don't think id start a family in the first place. Why would I want to bring children into this earth if I don't have the resources to support them. Thats the problem with to many people is that they pop out a shit load of kids and then cry about the fact that they cant take care of them. It does not work. You cannot force people to become what is "dominant" culture. You are implying a power relation, one which is based on false pretenses. The EXACT country you are all claiming to be YOURS was just "acquired" a few centuries ago. That is not a long time, and just because you FORCE an existing population to the periphery does not make the damn place yours.

Well my friend, if i may say so,historically cultures have always came together at civilization mecas, but always brought good things to the table. if not they would starve due to the huge competition. Here in the States we instead LOWER THE STANDARDS to accomodate the rest. i have worked in immigration for the last five years on both sides of it, against and for it. It is the saddest thing to see that these people create a little eutopian society, closed to the world and only living with in themselves. When they live in the most diverse country of the world at this point in time.

They do not isolate themselves due to an informed decition or choice, it is due to ignorance, lazyness and fear of the new. How the hell are you gonna expect to be treated the same if you refuse cooperate? Social sevices is full of first generation and even more of the pathetic second genaration immigrants who failed to fit in, and now they do not even have jobs. Go to LA and see what mexicans have done to the place.

I am not familiar with this case, but isn't a life a life, whatever the colour of the skin and the social/legal status? If a tourist was shot/killed by cops, would it be different? Both wouldn't be real American or have any status? Anyway, this case shows that US is the land of "free enterprise". Sue and you shall receive...

BTW It should say "Laissez le bon temps rouler." which is a very direct translation of "Let the good time roll." When the Acadian were refugees, deported from Eastern Canada, they did not speak English (which was the language of their oppressor) and even these days, many still speak a particular Acadian type of French.
