So I deliver pizza in my e30. Yesterday around 2:30 I went downstairs to have a smoke and when I opened my garage, I saw this lil guy sitting on my fender. The pic is from a phone camera, so you can't see how bright green he really is. When I left for work at 4, he was still there. When I got to work a few minutes later, he was still there. Over the course of the night, I drove probably 50 miles and at speeds up to 60mph. He never left.
He would move around from time to time, and when I was cruisin, he would hunker down and put his front and rear legs right next to each other so they were touching. At one stop, he crawled up the a-pillar to the roof and rode back to the shop up there. When I got back, there were a bunch of high school kids playing frisbee and screaming because that's what they do, and he got a little freaked and walked back down to the wiper arm. After that, I lost sight of him and it got pretty dead for the last hour. I looked for him a few times, but didn't see him. However, when I left to go home around 11pm, he was right back in his favorite spot on the hood right above where my turbo will someday sit . We drove home, and I parked my car and went inside. Before doing so, I touched him to make sure he was good to go, and he sprung out of his aerodynamic pose into regular grasshopper stance. He was not there this morning.
I just thought it was crazy that A) he had the ability to stick to my car, B) he chose to stay on my car for so long and C) how freaking awesome this was. Did he know that if he stayed long enough, we would eventually return home? I was parked in many appealing areas throughout the night that he could have moved to, but he was on my car for at least 8 hours. I've just never seen anything like this and thought it was pretty neat. I've been watching a lot of National Geographic channel recently (try that, Blunt... I have been sick of reality tv for 5+ years) so maybe that's why I thought it was so cool. Discuss!
