hahah.. I work in Washington. Im not looking for any money, Im only looking to not have these charges. Thats all. Likely, from what I hear, Ill threaten a lawsuit and they will offer to drop the charges. Thats all I want. I detest those people who look for excuses to sue. Im not like that. I go on the honor system.

your description sounds factual and honest.

bottom line is if the cops tell you to stop you are required to whether youre on private property or not.

this is where it all went south.

a lot of cops are on power trips but if you comply and do as they ask youre not going to get fucked with.
i seriously doubt youll get anywhere with this. you know as well as i do this shit happens everyday. and courts have seen millions or sworn statements from the victims buddies claiming total innocence.
the cops will claim you resisted arrest and they will get the benefit of the doubt. its just the way it works.

You are absolutely right. I know if I had bowed down and let them fuck with us nothing would have happened. I admitted that to the other officers. They did go overboard with the cuffs and the spray. I wasnt armed, wasnt belligerent (sp?), and was not aggressive in any way. There's ways to approach things and then theres ways to approach things. I know very well the whole deal about a cops word being god. I also doubt this will go anywhere, but I have to do it for my own principle and dignity. Thanks for your respectful and non judgemental opinion/advice. I was raised in L.A. and know how they get down, but I have never been treated like this when being completely cool about everything. I am the first to admit when I get what I deserve. 3 1/2 years with no license and going to jail a few times taught me accountability well. But this is bullshit and a half.

No they did not. They didnt say anything. I didnt even talk to the arresting officers besides the "scuffle" everybody after that was some person who wasnt there.

Well please do not just let this go. I understand that you really have no malice towards the cops and you just want the whole thing to be as if it never happened, however, if you do not persue some sort of counter-action, it can come back to haunt you later.

A co-worker of mine got fired from his previous job because they thought he was stealing. He figured that these were just items that were misplaced and he was just being wrongly blamed because he was the last person seen in the area of the office before the theft occured. He had not stolen anything and he had planned on giving his 2-week notice in the near future so he didn't think anything about it one way or the other. About 4 months on the job with us, the cops arrived looking for my co-worker and they took him to jail. He spent the whole weekend in the slammer until the magistrate arrived and let him out (without bail) under the custody of his wife. So from the time of his arrest to the time of trial, the company that he worked for was bought out, the branch office changed their name, and there was nobody to accuse my co-worker of stealing. The whole thing was dismissed in less than 5 minutes but it still gave him some problems being that he now had an arrest record.

His attorney told him that had he gone back and sued his former employer for lost wages and defimation of character, none of this would have ever of happened. I know that you do not want to contribute to the problems caused by everyone being so "lawsuit happy" but you almost have to take this thing all the way to the finish line and get a cash settlement just so the whole situation can be done with. Certainly you wouldn't be accepting the money out of greed and if having the money bothers you, just give it all away to charity or something like that but the money is necessary to serve as an admission of wrong doing on their part. If you leave it open ended, they might decide to press more charges later on and arrest you again when you least expect it.

one time cops busted my party when I was 16 because somebody called my party in (i recently found out it was some bitch who was mad she wasnt invited). We hid the shit and i told the cop it was cool if he came in and didnt find anything, so we partied after he left. Another time I was pulled over on new year's eve going 70 in a 45 andthe cop didnt give me a ticket. It was great. I really haven't had much of a problem with them, other than the fucking jackass ranger who gave me and 4 others an MIP citation when we were camping. He didn't give us drug charges, though, which he could have. I don't know what was with him.

I've been really lucky. you got fucked and should not take it. Good luck with that.

Im not taking it. Im only lokoing for them to drop the charges. I AM going to threaten lawsuit, which should motivate them to drop the charges. Unbelievable.

That happened to me too. I had to hand over all my beer. He probably brought it back to the ranger station and threw a party.

Not to beat a dead horse mariano, (and this is the last thing I will say about it) but thretening to sue does not have the same effect as actually filing the lawsuit. Dick around with this if you want to but you will not get any credit for being the bigger person if they decide to lay the hammer on you at a later date.

I took the cop to court, pleaded not guilty. He got so many of the facts that he himself wrote down in the report wrong. Also the judge wasnt even half convinced on their charges of "public" drunkenness, and resisting. It wasnt even hard to decide for him. I just thought Id update you guys.
