I've tossed the idea around of a red dot but I really want to have something with some sort of reticle or a bullet drop built into the reticle. Basically I want a little more than just a dot. I know EoTech makes their new reticles with a dot or two for drop, but every EoTech i've looked at had a fuzzy reticle, not sure if thats just because they weren't focused or something?

Red dots are not meant for ranges that necessitate a 'bullet drop' calculation. At that distance the dot itself would encompass 6+ inches. They are generally not magnified, they are for distances (IMO) of less than 100yds. Personally I have a Vortex Strikefire, similar to an AimPoint that is far less expensive with far less battery life, still a great option for <$200. Holographic sights are cool I guess, but I wouldn't drop the cash unless I had nothing else to spend it on (will never happen).Originally posted by CreamE30 View PostComment
