You can buy grazing and use lease from the BLM and NFS in most place. Lots of ranchers in places like UT, NV, MT, WY etc... own large tracts of land but leas as much or more public ground in places like this where their is little public using it......

I was looking a buying a place last summer (was a bit TOO far out of budget) that came with the rights to renew a 15,000 acre grazing lease from the NFS.

IIUC the particulars of this case, the BLM just flat refused to renew these peoples lease, a lease that they have the rights to renew, due to the way the BLM control was written. The judge has awarded this family like 4 mil and the govt refuses to pay them.

.22 can be had for .10 a round (still way overpriced) but it's cheaper than .30 for 9mm. I'm leaning towards the M&P 22 since I already have a fullsize M&P 9 so the ergonomics would be near identical but the thought of having a pistol that will share mags with my dad's MKIII is also tempting. I could always get a 1911 .22, always wanted one but don't really care to expand to the 45 ACP.

            Ohhhhh man.

I will make one off topic comment about the event. I would assume that the Environmentalist told the BML that it was habitat and they had no choice but to try to protect it. Did they do it the right way? Hell no!

The land should be the owners to do with what they will. There are laws for Adverse Possession and Prescriptive Rights but the bottom line is those laws are for the folks that want to take the land from the rightful owner.

              Cheers,

                Let's talk humidity control.

I have read that Firearms Museums shoot for a 50% humidity level. Any lower and you will dry out wooden stocks. Now my safe doesn't contain any wood (yet), but I would like to be optimal.

I have a bucked of Damprid on the BOTTOM, with nothing else around it. (Going to switch to a silica can here soon, the idea of salt in my safe makes me nervous.)

Then last night I installed a Lockdown heating rod as well. As of right now I'm sitting just below 60% on my hygrometer.

My question, is with the rod do I really need ANY desiccant? I have read somewhere that the fire safety material actually counter acts desiccants anyway.

Shooting suppressed for this gun is not like the movies. It helps in reducing noise and muzzle rise but the bullet is still super sonic and will make that crack. The best part about it though is you dont have to use hearing protection which is really nice on a hot long day out shooting.

It also adds a lot of weight at the end of the barrel which will make the balance of the gun way off.

Its great to use in prone position, bi-pod, shooting pigs.

BTW update in Nevada---- feds are backing down and pulling out!

On Saturday, Clark County Sheriff Douglas C. Gillespie announced that the Bureau of Land Management would cease their persecution of cattle rancher Cliven Bundy. He also stated that Bundy’s cattle would be allowed to graze on the land.

looks like a lot of people turned out for support of this!

I'm wondering why they caved so easily. Seems the Sebelius leaving news along with the Reid/China Connection. Makes me think this was used to occupy the media until the HHS changeover stuff was rolling so as not to hurt ACA any worse than it already is.

Plan on spending $150 to finish my Saiga conversion and possibly another $85 to put some night sights on my Kahr CM9. Been thinking I should own a 22lr handgun for a while...can't decide if I want a Ruger MKIII style (dad has an old one back from the 70s) or go with a new style SR22, P22 or M&P 22. Help me spend money folks.

LOVE my sr22p, I got the one with the threaded barrel and now waiting on a Spectre II to come in.

The SR22 is easy to clean, unlike the MKIII style pistols and the sr22 will shoot any ammo. I have yet to find ammo it doesnt shoot.

Use the walmart app to find ammo. I've got a nice supply now thanks to that app.

Funny you should post this, I just ordered an SR22 from Sportsmans Outdoor for $289 shipped. I'm excited about it. Also the rest of Saiga conversion stuff are on the way. I've got some stuff to do after I get the A/C working in my E30, that is taking priority over all right now.
