    transferring files

I've built a new computer and so now I need to transfer all my files from the old one to new one. Old comp has xp home, new comp has xp pro, and I have a hub to use. Somebody want to help me out?

Put the hard drive from the old computer into the new one as a slave drive, it will be a lot faster and easier.

    RISING EDGE

Let's drive fast and have fun.

Copy it to a floppy and keep swapping it between computers.

I know.. For years I have been building my own PC's and I have always kept the same cases so of course I would leave the floppy drive intact. Anyhow, last year for the first time in my life I bought a brand new PC off the shelf and it was a complete culture shock. It had a built in card reader, double layer DVD burner, 400GB hard drive, and the list goes on and on.. the most shocking discovery was the fact that there was NO FLOPPY drive.

To protest, I installed the old fashioned 5.25 floppy drive from my old 386. I get a lot of laughs when people see this. Some people think that its a funny looking CD drive.

Holy shit do they still make the 5.25 floppy's ? Those for real I have not seen since the early 90's and the 3.5" are getting fewer and fewer.

You can always transfer file with a usb flash drive too. Just get one that is somewhat large on the GB like a 4gb or higher would be good. They are cheap I bought a 12gb for $125
