I haven't heard anything but rumors as to price, don't take my estimate as fact.

I've seen sites hinting at $30k-$40k.

    Still a lot of money.

It's an open diff but apparently BMW uses electronics for a simulated LSD.

Not a big fan. Car looks wierd and doesn't flow well.

Spoken like a true enthusiast, good man Rob.

I'm saving to put an N54 motor in my E30 now. I know someone's gonna do it, but who will be first is the question.

They aren't calling it the ///M1 and the car is already tuned to hell enough and comes stock with enough m-tech equipment that it might a well be the secret ///M1

Personally, I've already signed up for a test drive when they become available, and will be purchasing one as soon as they hit the coasts :)

Like I said, I'll be having one.

Just gotta ditch the M5. C'est la vie.

It is an electronically controlled diff. It's open when it needs to be and limited slip when it needs to be.

Not really, thats just BMW's marketing terminology. All its going to do is apply the brake to the unloaded spinning wheel in hopes of transferring torque the other wheel. That never works as well as a true lsd and alot of power gets converted to heat in the brakes rather than making it to the pavement.

I think the wavy sides look like crap. I'd like it a lot better if it was flat.

There is an LSD available for the 335i so i'm guessing that while it may not COME with one, you can probably BUY one for it.

Yep my thoughts exactly. I'm not a big fan of the coupe for whatever reason. Alpine white hatch (with diesel power) please...

I've heard rumors on the 1/2-series forum (2addicts.com, or something like that) of an M version with the S54 engine. Neat.
