    Trance Techno

So i like trance... and I need some new material. Who's good?? Just list what you like, I really don't want to take the time to post everything that I have/like/ect. There has to be some other techno fans on the board...

not sure what you'd classify these as, but got them as part of Clubbers Guide 2007 and they do play in the Euro clubs

          Hold You - GusGus
          Break Up - Kim Sozzi
Magic Carpet Ride - Might Dub Katz
          Rush Hour - SJB
          Kinda New - Spektrum
You Gonna Want Me - Tiga
          Rise Up - Yves Larock
          The Creeps - Freaks
Destination Calabria (duh) - Alex Guadino
          Wheels in Motion - Funkerman
Real Love - Doc Da Funk

may be more house than you want, but check em out
and this site has free podcasts to download so you can sample a lot of tracks then go back and he has them labeled. Especially Winter Chill 2006 and Club Life Part II ClubDJPodcasts

                Ted, here is my suggestion:

                Quit listening to that shit.

Pop by my shop sometimes, burn a blues CD or three. Get into some Lloyd Jones, some BB King, maybe a little Etta James (the newer stuff) and of course some Johnny Adams, then some Love Dogs.

You seem like a great guy (for a republican, anyway) and I am sure you know that this is just a college thing, this tekno-trance whatever you call it stuff.

Its OK to listen to real music, just like its OK to drive real cars.

                Luke

                Closing SOON!
"LAST CHANCE FOR G.A.S." DEAL IS ON NOW

Thanks for 10 years of fun!

                  Lol @ Luke.

I was kidding about Oakey, we listen to a lot of trance at my shop when my boss is gone and my coworker and I have pretty much equated Oakey with Sony Xploads: Not bad, but there is SO MUCH MORE out there that's better.

                  Although I secretly like oakey....

But yeah, I agree with Luke too, definitely explore some other genres! I try to do that a lot which is why I'm a celtic fiddler who listens to Prodigy and Daft Punk.

This is a little self-serving, but I'd love it if you'd give some of my music a listen, myspace link in my sig. I'm new to techno so it's kind of an experiment for me and I always love to hear feedback from people who know the genre.

                  Thanks!
                  Brendan

                    if you like hard/progessive/uplifting trance:
                    ppk
                    4 strings
                    cosmic gate*
                    flutlicht (trance acid)
                    Kai Tracid
                    Kosmonova (old school, but awesome)
                    vincent de moor
                    marcel woods...
blah blah blah, there are A LOT of trance DJ's out there, most new ones aren't soo "trancy" but they're ok, I mostly listen to late '90 early 2000 trance stuff... those are just a few.

btw, I don't consider paul oak. to be a good trance DJ... maybe techno in general.

Paul Van Dyke (old stuff) way better then tiesto or Oak.

Check out Yoji Biomehanika for some hard style trance. You can download one of his mixes at bbcessentialmixes.blogspot.com. I also enjoyed Nick Warren. Oh yeah, and I can't believe nobody has mentioned John Digweed or Sasha. Also, Pete Tong occasionally has some good stuff. A new Danish producer Trentmoller isn't bad either. Anybody know where else I can download more live mixes? What Oakey mixes do you have uofom3? Care to share them?

I have Oakey's entire anthology on MP3, if you can figure out some way to transfer it. I could also just send you the bittorrent file.

Chemical Brothers your bag? I just picked up the Singles 93-03 for this and other songs like Block Rockin' Beats

another good idea would be to check out Dutch MTV, etc as that's how I saw the "Do It Again" video, and outside of Dead Prez and some other olllld skool US shit, it has something to wet your tastebuds of new stuff. Although Chemical Brothers new CD, I only like the single ... too bad since I just bought it for $20

OOOH. A new group is spreading and is cool if you have the ear for it: Justice. It's a little weird but chill. Growing in popularity definitely http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fo_QVq2lGMs

My ex is into John Digweed, but too weird and empty feeling but maybe that's just trance. She's always on some kind of drug so the experience is different than just drunk and dancing in the club.
