Live Earth and the money......of course it's about money...

This is really a sad state of affairs when things come down to this.
Anyone here remember or know about what happened to the money made from Live Aid??
Well Live Earth. Where do you think the money is going from this? Please don't think they're throwing this for free, they're not.

    Where does the money go.

Anyone know about Gore and his energy consumption and his lack of doing as he's speaks, knows this is BS.....and it's truely sad.

We do need to do things to keep our enviroment clean but listening the Gore is not the solution.
    WHORE!!!.....lol.

There's been lots of critical news about this event. I too think it is a bunch of hot air. Gore has been going on and on about conserving energy, driving hybrids, going green. It's a great message - one that has made some people take a good look at things - but when the messenger 'conveniently' excludes himself from the proclamation which he spews, well then you have a gleaming example of hypocracy.

Think about the amount of energy being used to put on these various concerts.....just the amount of electricity for all those amps and stage lights. Nevermind all those musicians jetting from here to there to be part of Gore's bandwagon. If Gore really wanted to make a positive impression of this awareness concert, he would have these musicians all do their gig in one private studio with serveral webcams and then stream it all over the Internet he created :-P

Just caught the ending with the police and saw some DMB. Regardless of what it stands for, where the money goes, etc..., there is some damn good being played across the world tonight.

The way that these people carry themselves and speak like they are on the leading edge of science and worldly knowledge makes me sick. I can't help but draw connections between Team America and this type of stuff.

What would be better for self-promotion than selling to people (sheep) that you are concerned about the preservation of their EARTH over all else?

It's just as sick as Scientology...and all those other religions too.

          Exactly, it is a religion.

It's a religous issue because it's a political issue. In case anyone failed to notice, political thought is the new religious dogma. Whether or not global warming exists or not is the same as evolution vs. creationism. The scientific evidence is irrelevant. Attack everything else so you don't have to deal with reality or even worse, feel called upon to actually change.

Unfortunately not everyone can see through this. Al Gore has become much more "marketable"......and lots of people are eating it up!

Wow, I expected a fight on this one. Good to see people can actually think.

Why even bother to post a retort? Arguing/debating global warming issues on a BMW forum is a pointless exercise. I would rather spend my energy doing something constructive than debating a bunch of people I don't even know and whose minds I'm not going to change. Have fun bashing Gore and the rest of the public figures who are trying to raise awareness about an issue that is important to them.

I always thought an issue had to have proof. You do know what "scientists" Gore "used" don't you?

hindsight will be a little hazy on this issue...
