I just picked up my first Canon 'L' lens, the 70-200mm f/4 L. I love it! super fast and silent focus, good size, amazing image quality. I've got a 1.4x Kenko TC on order, that should go very nicely with it too! next up is a monopod and beanbag, handholding that thing and trying to get steady shots could be a challenge. I wanted IS, but it's twice the price and I can't afford that right now :( I'll take it to PIR next track day and get some shots to post up in the forum.

people think you're a pro with a big white lens, i like the idea of IS too, thats why I am eyeing a pentak k10d which has the IS built into the body, so you can buy cheaper glass and still have IS. -

Personally the 2.8 is worth the little extra cash. Sharper, faster, and the smooth creamy bokeh is stellar. The weight isnt that big of a deal, I hand held my 70-200 2.8L that entire lemons event this weekend.Originally posted by Jean View PostComment
