-Limp Bizkit (only cuz I cant STAND Fred Durst)

-The vast majority of rap after 2000 and lots of it before. Mid 90's West Coast shit is my thing. When it meant something.
-Fleetwood Mac (the popular one, before the lineup that was famous, they had a BAD ASS blues band with Peter Green who was on track to become a legend like Page, and Clapton, and played with John Mayall.)
-Cheap Trick

Korn I could listen to back around '95 or so, Adidas/Blind era stuff. When it got all hip-hoppy and loaded with turntables around 97-98, I had to turn that shit off.

Rush is just dogshit. Squeaky vocals, renfest geek lyrics, and overrated musicians.

GNR- Illusions I & II are fucking brilliant, everything else I can leave. Appetite never did anything for me, but bust out "Estranged" and I'll toss out the lighter. I honestly think Axl is going to pull a Brian Wilson and release "Chinese Democracy" in 20 years, it will be his "Smile".

Live - I like live, have for a long time and still do. They had a few hits off of their second & third albums, and pretty much went back into obscurity around 98 or so. They've kept putting stuff out, and have some decent tracks. I lump them in with bands like Collective Soul, Candlebox, Gin Blossoms & such as being enjoyable, and you can still catch them touring small venues.

Staind - these guys were never good. It was bad in '99, and it's almost comical now. Uncle Fester doesn't rock.

Chevelle - Chevelle is good workout music, I like their basswork.

As for "hell yea", they're indistinguishable from every other mainstream rock act the last 5-7 years. Complete throwaway crap. Biggest problem now is that there's nothing to retread from. Grunge had a following, and the ability to retread itself off of acts like Black Sabbath and the 70's fuzz rock. Bizkit, Korn & others could retread itself off of acts like Biohazard & Body Count. Green Day in the mid 90's could do a good impression of a punk band. The problem now is, all of these acts are retreading themselves off of Limp Bizkit & Korn, which sucked to begin with. Acts like Nickelback are trying to be Creed - this just isn't good. Green Day is/was nothing more than a good mainstream impersonation of punk, and now they're considered a punk "pioneer" band, which leads to what, Sum 41 & Avirl Lavigne?

Hip Hop is just as bad. Most acts now are just ripping off Puff F'n Daddy, which was a horrible ripoff to begin with.

Don't even get me started on country. I never thought I'd see the day when I'd actually miss hearing Garth Brooks on the radio.

Odd, you don't live in Baltimore.

I remember these guys around '96 or so, they had what, 1-2 songs that got mainstream airplay, and then faded away. Everywhere it seems save for the Eastern Seaboard. I swear to god, everytime I'm down on the coast around Delmarva/Baltimore, I hear them on 98 rock. New songs no less. Them and Jimmy's Chicken Shack. It's like a high school time warp.

Although, I still argue that if SR-71 wants to make some money, they should lawyer up and sue the shit out of Bowling for Soup. "Axl Rose" predates "1985" by a couple of years, and BFS aped the shit out of that song.
