    Dateline NBC....damn!

    Hello thar,

Did anyone happend to catch last night's episode of Dateline: "To Catch A Predator". ?

This time they are on the Jersey Shore. I was just amazed by these guys who would sometimes drive hours or even catch a train to have a soiree with a 13/14 yr old. They decoy was actually 18 yrs. old.

Some guys including a military guy cried to be let go.

Show airs weekly on Wednesdays @ 10pm EST.

How many seasons of this can they possibly air?

I mean seriously, Don't you think that these guys will smarten up and not do it considering that they could be put on dateline as a "predator".

But on the show, they choose to show their face on TV bc they get a piece of the pie. I wonder how much money NBC gives them for the rights to not bleep their face on this show...

          "piece of the pie" ?

What are you talking about? NBC doesn't have to pay anybody for "rights" not to show their face? They can show their face without any recourse.

You can be sure they had an army of lawyers review every one of the scripts they use to lure these cretins in, and that the same army reviewed all the footage before it went on the air. I am sure they had some with some grey areas in the story that they don't show. but everyone one of the episodes I have seen, these guys are just nailed to the wall. And this is coming from the perspective of someone who does some Criminal Defense work.

What really gets me laughing are the ones they have had show up on MULTIPLE episodes. I have seen a couple who they baited in who had charges pending from a prior sting that they had televised!

The ability to convict a person. On COPS they are innocent until proven otherwise. On Dateline there is already more than enough evidence against the fucktards. You cannot make money off a crime, like you cannot write a book in jail and sell it.

I think they make a deal with law enforcement where they will reduce the charges if they are willing to show their face on TV the same way that they do on COPS.

As for the 12-14 year old girls, I don't get it either. If you are able to ignore the fact that they don't have curves, most girls at that age are still trying to figure out their bodies and how to keep their private areas clean. Having worked in the service industry before, I know how disgusting a young girl's unmentionables can be.

And then if you are sick enough to get past that aspect of it, what can a grown man and a teenaged girl converse about? I certainly could not see myself engaging in conversation with a girl who spends 99% of her free time giggling with her girlfriends on the phone.

And lastly if you are going to drive 400 miles to go have sex with some girl that you never met is it wise to trust her when she says that her parents aren't going to be home for a while?

Yeah and with all the nervousness (I guess) these guys keep talking and talking with the host Chris Hansen putting themselves in deeper shit.

In some of the cases it kinda seemed like it was a "degree" of entrapment however I do agree that these guys need to be snatched in order to spare future victims. In this respect, current laws are favorable as we see on the show (and other simmilar stings besides Dateline) that the predator doesn't have to actually meet with the minor face to face to be arrested. i.e the guys who hesistated, drove off and were arrested on the freeway.

If one of the persons arrested in these operations are people who are normally subject to bad practical jokes by friends and "go along" , they are in deep shit.
The 25 yr old dude who cried made me kinda lol.

                            Not currently in Holland.:p

I grew up watching all the major U.S networks just like you guys. The Netherlands doesn't have them and their local programming sucks.
