I figure with the $300 I spent in leather to try to get it done ( which I was going to just charge you cost of leather no labor to do your dash) I would get to keep it. I never recieved any money from you. If you were a customer and not a friend I would have required half down to even tackle it. Since I could not get it done you told me never mind I am going to send my other dash to just dashes. Then you tell me just dashes it too expensive and that you want your dash back. The only thing on the dash were the layout lines and cuts (which I told you) where I was going to glue. If it was more cracked then before you should have contacted me and I could have made a claim with the shipping company.

i would have gladly paid you whatever you wanted to do the project. i have to assume that as "into" cars as you are you realize when youre doing a restoration to the level i am you must have a plan and a schedule or youll never complete your project. i appreciate the fact you didnt turn out something that wasnt acceptable to both you and myself but i think communication could have been far better, i ended up purchasing another car with a nice dash to use in my project. thats when i requested my dash back from you. so i could replace the one in my 69. but i couldnt drive the car for most of the summer because i couldnt get an answer from you via emails or pm's. thats what im really frustrated about. im not here to badmouth your business. just stating the facts as i see them

          Steve,
Fair enough that is why surprised you even wanted that old dash back espicially since you were meticulous on your restore, not many bead blast the body, E30 mmotor, etc, etc. I had no idea you wanted it back for the 69. I did communicate with you via email and PM's. Do you have any pics of your M2?

sorry man, im either too fussy or some peoples standards are too low but i wouldnt accept bolsters like that. theres more wrinkles in those than my saggy ass cheeks.
i had a set of scheels done out in california and they came back with some wrinkles in the piping. they were suppose to go in my orange 02 but i couldnt live with them like that so i threw them in my 69 driver

                  Steve,
I thought you said that guy did good work, that is why I suggested him doing the seats instead of you sending them to me.

Hey Kellie these guys do REALLY good work here in SD.
They did the interior on my old porsche 912e, and also on my 930 I used to own. I found the evo fabric (thanks to vlad), and they are going to do the leather. But Dave over there has been in business a long time, and he does a lot of restoration work. I thought it would be almost impossible to redo the lobster red in my 912e, and he found the factory material for my car (and it looked great).

I know Rob re-worked the bolsters when he had them up for sale, but I'm with you that in that state I wouldn't run 'em either. But I'm O/C, and so my life is kinda screwed up because of that anyhow.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

you know how that goes, i was out in san francisco at a car show and snatched them. i had a friend who said he knew someone who did nice work. i saw the seats the guy did in his car and they looked really nice so this was an easy solution as id only have to ship them once. these seats do look nice if you discount the wrinkle in the piping at the top of the seat but it would be the first thing i saw every time i walked up to the car. i have the same shit linus has i think. it would be a lot easier if i wasnt like that. on my driver i dont give a shit. and actually, ill be driving the 69 daily and these seats are way comfortable so i might as well use them daily

If you check out the photo gallery, every other seat is wrinkled. If I'm going to spend the money, I expect the seats to look absofreakinglutely PERFECT.

Dusty, Ocean Beach upholstery looks promising, thanks for the tip. Once I have a little more moolah saved up, I'll probably get an estimate from them. I also think I'm going to check out Jim's Auto Upholstery in Kearny Mesa.

Kellie OB is not cheap at all, but they do really great work. If I can find a pic of my Porsche's I will scan them and post them up.
Like I said I am going to have them do my e30 as soon as he gets back from vacation. OH! and when my 8 yards of fabric hit his shop.

This is exactly what I am worried about..... that would make me sick, and I would probably burn them

I don't mind paying as long as I know the work is top notch. Think you can give me a ballpark guess so I know how much to save up? You can PM me if you wanna. Thanks!!!
