Yeah, but do they put salsa on the 1/4 lb'ers? Ironically, the place with about zero mexicans (but plenty of Poles, which are the Mexicans of Europe) and a populace who loves bland food has Salsa on a burger.

In June 2007 as part of the UK McDonalds "Mex It Up" promotion there is also a new "Mexican Quarter Pounder" which uses the same meat and buns but has 'Salsa' and 'Sour Cream and Chive' sauce (the same as the chicken premier) lettuce, a slice of tomato and one slice of cheese.

And interestingly enough:

In most markets unfamiliar with English measurements, the Quarter Pounder is known as the Hamburger Royale or McRoyal, or variants thereof, including "Royale with Cheese", as famously explained in the film Pulp Fiction (although one should note that in France the official name of the Quarter Pounder with Cheese is Royal Cheese).

Mexicans come north to be cheap labor. Poles move West and are cheap labor. So many Poles are in the UK and other countries being plumbers, there is a shortage of them in Poland. In fact, because the Poles went west for construction, Poland has to go east for illegal cheap labor...

Employment authorities on Poland have said so many male builders have gone to the UK that there is simply not enough, but that training up some of the many unemployed women to do the work was a logical move.
