I did and they got me gobs of money, even a bit extra each semester. Fill out every one you even remotely qualify for. A friend (a guy) got a Women in Engineering Scholarship because there were not enough women who applied to spend it all. Spend a whole week doing essays and shit. Hell, even if you only get $1000 that is still better $/hr than a shitty college job. Apply for the small ones too, $80 is a book. People often look those over.
    All true.

Its crazy how some people look over those small amounts. And you are right- $80 gets you a book or school supplies. I mean if you get to school and they give you the choice between buying the book or getting it for free, which would you take?

Some years ago I was on a scholarship committee through my local civic organization and we were giving out $100 awards. We advertised at every single high school in the area. We only got 1 applicant and he ended up getting $1000 because nobody else applied.

That shit really happens. One of the merit ones i got was for books basically, $300. Two weeks after school started another check came for $200 and a letter stating the award was increased because of the small amount of recipients.

And yeah, $80 is $80. If you spend an hour writing an essay and $1 on an envelope and stamp you are still banking $79/hr.
        Im now E30less.

Wait, if my parents claim me, I am more likely to get aid?

I didn't get any Federal Aid so far (2 years).
