Work lights

Guys,

I'm looking to buy a bunch of work lights between 12-16w fluorescent type. Mainly looking to get quality lights for my shopp. Every time I buy the common fluorescent lights, they are sealed (non replacement bulb option) and they don't last shit. These are for my shopp and was looking for good work lights. Sears and other warehouses shopps sells these things but they look quite cheap and I think they won't long last either.

Any feedback,links, brands much appreciated.

Diego, are you talking hand held or permanent mount?

I have found for underdash work that the small florescent lights work great and are cheap...but bulbs are as much as a whole new light.

I wish I could offer some decent advice. Post up what you find!

I have used all of these in my shop and find them to be of great quality and warrantied well also.

You could always get the standard old fashioned drop light and then put a florescent bulb in it.

He stated the "Sears" the stuff looked cheep and would'nt last, I was simply speaking from experience in a heavy line autoshop what I've seen work... And the Streamlight line of flashlights is the best I've owned, much better than Maglight.

p.s. Regardless, like StereoInstaller said, Snap-On stuff is way expensive, but hey, any good addiction is, I mean, where are you gonna find a fat rock of crack for the price of a Big Mac?

I have several different streamlight flashlights for different uses and love everyone of them. They can be bought as a ac light, a dc light or a ac/dc light. The lights are all the same and the difference betweem them are the chargers for the different uses. I do not have the led light but rather the halogen lights. They totally kickass and are VERY bright and range from 15000 candle to 75000 candle. I highly recommend the lights to anyone needing a rechargeable flashlight. They run on ni-cad batteries and are completely rebuildable. The smaller stinger (15000 candle) is the same alot of police departments use.

what kind of lights for the shop do you mean? the portable ones like are shown above? or do you want some lights to light up the whole shop?

If you want to light up the shop id definitely recommend some 8ft Flourescent Hi Output. now depending on the size of the shop you need to see how many to get but they are really nice. whats the demensions of the shop? Home Crapo has them and are pretty good.

oh and if you are going to hook them up please make sure they are grounded....

I will agree all day that Streamlight is the shit.

However, SnapOn has turned to crap. I have been using them professionally for over 27 years. Their quality has gona WAY downhill, to the point that I will only replace missing tools, and then only hand tools by them.

BTW, my FAR72 ratchet has broken 5 times in 7 years...at $100 a crack.

Fuck StrapOn.

Hi guys,

my internet crashed yesterday so I couldn't get back here. Yes, basically what I'm looking to is to get the hand work lights , fo rexample when the car it's lifted sometimes you need extra light...you got teh idea...and yes, pretty much the same as SnapOn light that was posted above.

I'm looking to get a good hand lights, not rexchargable, it just need to be 120-240dc autorange volts so I'm not dealing with the crapp recharge every night. They won't go out of the shopp lol.

I'm looking to buy at least 25-30 of these hand lights for shopp.

What is Streamlight? Where can I look for it. I'm going to google it anywyas. ANy input much appreciated.

I vote cheap standard bulb lights replaced with the nice low power tube bulbs. I put some in my house, the light output is nice and clean and does not dim over time.

I remember we bought those, cheap ones long time ago and when the bulb blw, we wanted to replace it with another fluorescent bulb but the damn thing was builded somehow that was impossible to replace with a new tube bulb.

come to think of it, they are a little taller in 100 watts, but the 60s are smaller and put off very little heat
