wewt starting school, finally classes that don't suck.

Just started my 2 year in winona at University Minnesota SouthEast Technical. Its so nice not having to take BS classes like math, english, psychology, anthropology and other crap I don't care to learn.

First semester:

General Auto maintenance.
Brakes
Suspension and Steering.

Only thing that sucks is I commute 50min a day to get there. And most of the classes start at 8am. So I have to wake my ass out of bed at 6am to get there. But at least I get done at 2:30.

Now I get to spend god knows how much on tools wednesday. Have to get a rolling chest and fill her up. I have a 2 page list of junk to get, I have a lot of it already though.

The only thing that blows is I am more or less junking my 2 years already done at the college in Rochester. The auto tech program isn't NATEF certified anymore so its worthless to take since I can't get into STEP with it.

2 years then hopefully STEP time w00t ;)

Nice man. I did the same thing when I went to MassBay for 2 years. All we did was learn about BMWs and how cars worked. I got about $5500 worth of tools, but it was all half off because of student discounts. You will hear about thoes soon. Good luck.

I always enjoyed the psychology and sociology classes. I learned way more in those classes then I did in my degree-specific classes (telecommunications, computer hardware/software and networking).

Just to make you feel better about your 50 minute commute and starting at 8am...
I worked full time in school and had a 1.5 hour drive. Started work at 6:30am, left at 4ish, got a shower/ate and went to school from 6:30-10:30. Got home at 11:30-12:00, went to sleep for ~5 hours, and did it all again the next day. Did this 4 nights a week for 3 years. Enjoy your schedule, I would have loved what you have! I don't know how all the people with a family/kids did what I did, major props to them...

Good luck with your classes, too. It will be well worth it.
