Lol, if Seattle loses this game after 2 fumbles by GB and an early 14-0 lead, I dont know what it would be. But their franchise should be contracted if it does happen. -
Jags, Cowboys, Colts, Packers. My predictions, though I'll be pulling for NYG.Leave a comment:

wait rex hitting that three is Worse then 8 seed beating the 1seed considering up until that point it was one of the few times it happened in nba history? really?Man do I hope you're right. I haven't followed it that closely because I was under the impression that it was pretty much a done deal. What have you read? I'd like to read up on that.
Ah. That's not as bad as Rex Chapman hitting a prayer of a 3 pointer to tie the game, and later eliminate the sonics.

Just like the Vikings to LA. The Saints to LA, etc. I think youre right, its all a leverage move.So like I said, it's all politics. Clay Bennett is a business man and he knows that there is much more money to be had in Seattle. He is threatening to move because he knows if he scares us enough, he will get what he wants which is a brand spanking new arena. I like the Sonics enough that I say give it to him.Leave a comment:

Guest repliedI have been reading tons of Sonics message boards and blogs so I will try to fill you in with what I know. There are quite a few factors as to why many people think they will stay.
1) First of all, there are still 2 years left on the lease with the Key Arena. The Sonics absolutely cannot leave before the end of the 2009-2010 season.
2) Threatening to move a sports team is often used as leverage to get a new arena. It happened with both the Seahawks and the Mariners and has happened with countless other teams. It is no different in this case with the Sonics. Even after Clay Bennett "officially filed for relocation" he said he was still open to an arena deal in Seattle.
3) Clay Bennett would be INSANE to move from Seattle to OKC. Seattle is the 14th largest media market in the country, the gateway to the pacific rim and has 10,000-potential season ticket holder-millionaires. OKC is the 45th media market in the country and well, nothing else.
4) The arena in OKC is just as bad as the Key Arena. It only cost 89 million to build and has none of the amenities (like restaurants and private suites) that he wants. If the Sonics move, he will be asking for something new there as well.
5) There has been quite a bit of talk about behind the scenes work going on to keep the Sonics here. A few people on the boards I frequent have come forward saying that they know of arena plans and so forth but they cannot legally say anything more. There is a ton of planning that goes into something like this so every t needs to be crossed and every I needs to be dotted before the plans can be released to the public.

All those moments I remember off the top of my head actually lol. but 94 was when Dikembe Mutombo and Laphonso Ellis beat the #1 seeded sonics, as a #8 seed.Holy shit, jflip made me laugh. You just touched on some sensitive subjects. I guarantee you did some research for that. You're right though. Hasselbeck made an ass of himself and the M's won 116 games for nothing. But the Sonics were in no way pathetic. There was a guy with initials MJ that no one could have beaten then. Without him, Payton and Kemp would have brought Seattle a trophy. Hell, maybe they'd be staying here next year if that happened.
But seriously, that was a low blow.Leave a comment:

But probably not.
Id love to see Jax beat NE this weekend, itd be absolutely great. The pats would go from one of the best teams ever to the 2001 Mariners (Hey, another WA flop), but not as pathetic as the '94 Sonics.
