Was on the way to work that morning, when I arrived I saw the news printed and taped to the service dept. door and it was closed. Traffic that day was light, I still remember that day like it happened yesterday... -
Getting ready to go to work in the morning, flipped on the news before I left. Saw the footage of the first tower burning, before the second one was hit. Said "hmm, odd", it sort of reminded me of the plane that hit the Empire State building back in the thirties. News flipped back and forth, at that point I saw the second plane hit. It was a "damn" moment. Sort of surreal. You knew what you were watching - but you just couldn't rationalize it. It was almost like a dream Packed up to get to work, figured I'd watch more there. I got to work, and I got a call from my dad. My dad is a 22 year retired ex-military LTC. He was going to go interview for a consulting position that morning. The location? The Pentagon. He was driving down to the Pentagon and saw the plane hit. At the time I was 21 years old, I have never heard fear in my dad's voice. When he called me on my cell phone, I could hear a sense of panic and urgency. Someone standing outside saw me on the phone and said I turned white. At that point, it all became very real.
I'm a military brat from the NoVa area, so the Pentagon deal hits pretty close. I knew three people that died that day. Two in the Pentagon, and one on the flight, the dad of a friend of mine in HS. Needless to say, you don't forget.

I was getting ready for school, my parents were watching tv and saw it, so I went into my living room to watch it too. I just remember the confusion, no one really knowing what was happening at first. Then going to school and everyone was talking about it, still confused... It was weird..
PS: Im not the 80% that just forgot and Im not 20% that lost a family member. Thats total bs.

I was in high school Law/Gov't class. My teacher basically said to us, "I told you so...the US was asking for this fucking shit to happen."
I'll bet 80% of Americans have forgotten about this tragedy and just think it's another Tuesday, those 20% being the people who actually lost family. Other than that, nobody gives a fuck because deep down, we know we deserved it.
Compared to many other developing countries, 9/11 isn't a big fucking deal. When people are roaming the streets freely with assault rifles, it really puts shit into perspective. US citizens are whiny bitches.
With your mentality how come you were not in the towers then ? Your comments are very offensive to 99.9% of all americans you spineless shit... You are a pinko commy fag

Are you fucking kidding me? "We deserved it"? We deserved it, because as a society, we seek to be progressive and insure an amazing quality of life and standard of living even for our "poor". Where someone making 23k/yr with 2 TVs, an apartment and a car is considered in poverty. We deserved it because we have a society of laws and protections that allow us to voice our opinions, no matter how backwards and retarded they may be. We deserved it because we're a first world nation that creates and exports culture and values. They hate us for our prosperity.
Fuck that. It's not our fault that they follow some bullshit raghead religion that states you live in the mud and caves like the rest of the world did a thousand years ago. That you batter your women, that you dismember a man for a small transgression. It's not our fault they follow this false dogma that states their only way to salvation is to commit suicide and murder the innocents in the ultimate act of cowardice. Islam is a plague apon the western world. Left unchecked it will be a cancer that kills us.
I don't want to hear this bullshit about "moderate" islam - it doesn't exist. I don't see mass condemnation for Bin Laden, Al Qaeda and the other various islamofascist groups. I don't see an outrage for a group that allegedly "hijacked" islam. Why don't you see it? Because it isn't there. Bin Laden and such didn't hijack anything, Islam is what they are.

Just finished a pre-flight and flight plan. Looked at the "national radar" after the news and saw only 10 planes flying before our radar was shut down.
A friend of mine got grounded in Pensacola. He went to the store, bought beir, took it back to his hotel room, filled the tub with ice and got drunk. We were grounded for 3 days before they allowed our company to fly again.Last edited by FL318is; 09-11-2007, 09:49 AM.Leave a comment:

-Dude that's nuts. I was in my 9th grade Health class, and the news was on. I was stunned too, it was surreal.I was on a field trip to the statue of liberty, with my eighth grade class. there were 32 of us. 4 teachers. we were probably halfway up when all chaos broke loose. i was reading a poster about how the statue of liberty came into americas possesion.
We all ran outside and there was chaos everywhere. people screaming, pointing, crying, staring. I just stood there, not able to comprehend what happened. Kids started crying. those few lucky kids with cell phones called parents. the teachers hurried us to the hotel. we stayed there watching the news til the next morning. my mom called to make sure i was ok.
I was close. it was scary. I thanks god that no one i knew was in those buildings.Leave a comment:
