If I would have seen the last half to the last 3/4 of that clip I would have thought that the cop was totally wrong. But the kid started out by being hostile. He had an obligation to comply with the officer's request prior to having any questions answered. He said, "I should be allowed to park here. Why am I being pulled over? I did nothing wrong." before he even agreed to give the officer his information. That in and of itself is more than enough grounds for the cop to stick it to him.
The cop got carried away, and he was very unprofessional, and I think he ought to be reprimanded for his behavior, however, there are very bad people in this world who I would like to see in jail before I get robbed or assulted. If that kid was sitting in the parking lot waiting for the opportunity to do something violent, I would have wanted to see that kid locked up.
One thing that frustrates me about street crime is that I know who the troublemakers are in my neighborhood and I know that they are about to do something violent but I have to wait for one of their misdeeds to occur before I can call the police. Now if the cops come around and harass these guys and try to find something to "stick" on them, I feel much better.
On the flip side of that, if I have to be harassed by the police before they realize that I am a good guy, then its well worth the inconvenience knowing that they are keeping the bad guys away from me. Whenever the cops pull me over, the first thing I do is open all the windows, open the sun roof, turn on the interior lights, put both hands on the steering wheel and then I look straight ahead and wait for instructions from the cop. Hopefully this will make things harder on the guys who backtalk the officer before surrendering the drivers license and registration.

Its better to let a guilty man go free than lock up and innocent man in my book. And deciding to make up BS to arrest an innocent person is rediculous. Should have been obvious after a few seconds that this guy wasn't up to anything, especialy having just spotted a cruiser pulling into the lot.97 tacoma 5 spd 4 cylinder

I saw it on CNN. The interview with the kid was ridiculous. I didn't buy the kid's explanations for a single second. I have no idea what caused him to be pulled over, but who has a camera mounted in the middle of the car recording 24/7?Erick Mahle | FullOpp Drift | YouTube

I've seen this already, bad stop on the officers part, he has no reasonable suspicion for a detainment. He does have the right for a consensual encounter but the officer treated it as a detainment, violation of civil rights right there.
It doesn't matter if the kid was a prick, it's still wrong.
