I thought the kid gave a good reason, he got a ticket he thought he didnt deserve and it is pretty much your word against them and you are presumed guilty.Im now E30less.

That kid was in the right - he had no reason to tell the officer anything. He asked if he had done anything wrong, and the officer just started yelling at him.
If an officer stops to ask for my ID, I'll ask if I've done anything wrong and why he must see my ID. Not because I'm a dick, but because he has no right to detain me unless I've done something illegal.- Sean Hayes

However I believe you cannot refuse to provide ID to a police officer.

For those of you thinking of a career as a peace officer you'll have to learn to let the bad stuff go rather quickly or it will eat you alive. It's a very rare trait to be able to do this and do it quickly (at least in my observations ) and I spent quite a bit of my time dealing with piss poor attitudes of my fellow rangers.
I'm so fucking glad I'm not in that field any more, teaching folks to fly is fun ( and sometime funny ) as hell.

Haha!! I think its hilarious though. That cop was just fucking with that kid, he wasn't going to take him to jail. He was probably bored and felt like having fun. At least he didnt' take him out by gun point. Was it right, no but was it funny, yes. Did he end up taking him to jail? That tells you, really if he was just fuckin around.
Its as easy as taking your wallet out and letting him see your ID. You get ID'ed at a ton of other places, just take the 5 seconds and give him your ID
Not all cops are as nice to people as they were to McLovin

I mean if I am out driving around late at night for the fun of it and I see a cop sitting in an intersection, I am certainly NOT going to drive right beside him, drive around him, and then pull into the adjacent parking lot and sit there and not expect him to approach me. If you are driving to a specific place with a specific purpose, the cops won't bother you. But if you are sitting in a parking lot twiddling your thumbs, the cop has probable cause to believe that you are up to something malicious.

I think the kid may have been up to trouble considering that he had a camera running and that the music he was listening to was from Fast and the Furious. I bet the kid was doing something earlier that the cop saw. I didn't watch more than the first two minutes of the video though so I have no idea what happens after that.

Having a camera/mic running 24/7 in a car is actually a pretty good idea. Especially when police decide to be dicks, or you have some sort of accident etc. I'll be doing it when my car is finished.
