What bank do you guys use?

I'm moving sometime here in the next month. I currently bank with a credit union - which sucks. I need to switch to a bank with good online banking. So far im looking at (in order) bank of america, wachovia, Washington mutual, and some others. I'm looking for some reviews or horror stories.

    Thanks!!

My credit union has 2 locations. The online banking is a JOKE. I have submitted a request for a debit card like 50 times and have nothing. My girlfriend has our only debit card. Imagine that.

Credit Unions here have multiple locations, and I hear they have good customer service... and less fees.

I never take out loans or pay fees - so that doesn't really matter to me. Online banking is key.

I personaly deal with BB&T and they are all right but as far as the best banker to have is a small local bank( just a few branches at the local area only) These guys are more likely to do what ever it takes to get your business rather than the larger banks which always seem to have to submit loan proposels in front of a commity to get approval. The small local banks will jump through hoops to get your business

WaMu sucks the fat one. Wells Fargo signs me up for shit without my consent.

                    Long Live BofA!!

I have my biz account through BofA, and just switched my personal account over there as well.

Stay away from U.S. bank, I worked there and they are assholes. I like my local credit union, it has really good online banking. I think it is gonna be different depending on what local bank you go to. I'd imagine that bigger national banks are gonna have good online stuff.

                            Here goes...

So I called becasue there was an unknown charge on my account through my debit card and I wanted more info to see if it was legit. They didn't have any more info, so I asked to do a charge back or whatever. The guy said cool and processed the chargeback and gave me my money back within a couple days. He forgot to tell me that he had to cancel my debit card and I later found out he also forgot to reorder my card. This is just the beginning.

So that all happened about 2 weeks or less before my wedding and I had not used my card at all until this part begins, so at this time I had not clue that my card does not work. After the wedding we used my wifes card on the honeymoon (another wamu card) with no problems. When we went to pay for the bed and breakfast we used my card and it declined. I realized we are in Canada and my card was probably declined cause I didn't tell them i would be out of country (remember my wifes card worked without her informing them, but whatever). I called customer service sat on hold for like 10min talked with someone who transfered my so someone else where I sat on hold for about 10 more min and then the call was just dropped. I called back and explained to the guy the situation and said please transfer me directly to the person and not hold cause i dont want to get dropped again. i held on his phone and he transferred me to someone. That person then informed me that I had been transfered to the department to report my card lost/stolen and not to fix what i thought at that time (and had now been confirmed by 2 people) was a flagged card for being out of country. She was not able to transfer me to the right people and told me to call customer service back. I said screw it and paid the people with a different card.

A few days later I called WaMu again to fix this and sat on hold for 25 min when someone jumped in and asked for my name and phone number to call me back within 24 hours due to high call volumes. I couldn't believe it, gave my info, and stopped at the next WaMu location to try to fix this in person. They were unable to do anything for me there either.

I waited for my callback, which never came. I called them a few days later and basically told them I wanted my card reactivated. They lady told me they couldnt and they would order me a new card that will show up in 5-7 business days. Nobody has told me that my card is not working from my initial call and not the charge in Canada. I told her I needed the card faster becasue in my mind I hadnt had a card for 2 weeks (really about 1 month at this point). She transfered me to a manager. I talked through it with the manager and she 2 day shipped me a new card, assured me the PIN# would be the same and explained everything out to me about the whole situationa and when the card was actually cancelled and all that.

So the card arrives in 2 days as promised. A couple days later I am at the bank and run the card for their verification/id that I am the one they are helping or whatever...and the PIN does not work. I cannot update the PIN there and they order me a new PIN that arrives in 3-5 business days.

So that is where I really began to hate WaMu. Then when my wife and I combined accounts they screwed up again. We filled out all the paperwork. Put all the money from her account into mine. Then she went the bank a couple days later to get some cash and they added all the money to my account but lost the paperwork to add her onto my account, so she had access to no money. I had to go back into the bank and refill out all the info.

Wow. My department has a call center - So I know how things go - but there's no excuse for that.
