LOL, this is so true. I spent more on my wife's Sienna than on all 3 of the BMW's in my .sig combined. My E39 cost me $7500 and about $1k to update it to 01+ looks. The cabrio was $6k and the Bronzit Beast was $600.

If I had a dime for every time someone made a comment about my E39 being expensive, I'd have...uh, well, a pretty big stack of dimes. :D

ya sucks i had a coworker give me grief when i bought my 01 325....its like whoa...you just spent 3k more on your f150...wtf? if you want a bmw so bad..then ditch the truck SUCKA!

In the Bimmer circles, you ain't ballin' out here unless you have at least an E46 to call your own. Heck, E36s hardly get cred - E30s, no cred. That's Kalifornia fo ya :-P

eventually you get to a point where you don't really give a fuck what people think. I have a motto - "everyone thinks the guy driving a BMW is a prick, so I'm not going to let them down." It's amazing how easy it is to piss people off in my car, especially when I REALLY mean it!

I should note, the attitude in canada is much more respectful than down here. that and I see like 5 BMWs on every block... so having an e30 really is no big deal. it's like having a Honda Accord.

Yeah, in Canada most people realise that it's an older car, and give you lots of respect for maintaining it in good condition.
