If you're looking for an automotive related job, check www.sfldrifters.com and search for "the job thread". A few members post openings at their jobs.

Atta boy, glad to see you looking for a job, rather than a handout like a guy who was here last month.

I know you're young, but do you have any past work experience or education that might open a door for you? If so, that would be good stuff to post. It might save you ending up with a McJob.

i've done pretty much every mexican job possible here (theres no mexicans to do it here so it's young people OR drugged ppl and shit, you know, fucked up people) so yeah basically im looking for a job where i can be under the sun and work with my arms, i really dont need something that pays big, just something to cover up my hostel fees and food... i just wanna leave this fucking shithole during winter since i took a year off school to figure out what i wanna do in life and since i now know (bmw mechanic, eh) then i'm looking to have a good time in the south for the first time of my life... for now, here in quebec, i work at this garage thats almost hooked up to my house (neighbor) as a gas guy on evenings, which lets me work on my e30 all the fucking time since theres nobody at nights there and my boss lets me use the garage... yeah im a lucky bitch but im still not happy... also, thx RWDrift for this link, ill check it out... ends up as drift is my fucking passion and if i can get a job related to this IN FLORIDA, i'd have to marry you for linking me to that.

so yeah, im a young frenchie, i hate the french language pretty much but im stuck here for a little while... just gotta deal with it... also trying to get my e30 ready for the next drift season... oh well if you guys wanna know my life deeper just ask, or find me a job in florida and ill bring you home to fuck bitches here since its always fucking party.

          woot, thx for the replies

Sounds like if you can carry yourself reasonably well & you are average/above average looking, you should be able to find a job at least at one of the hotels doing something easier than where you have your personal bar set.

One of my best buddies did exactly that after high school & when I'd go visit him, I often wondered if I was going home alive. I don't know how he survived long term to be honest, but he was rubbing elbows with big money & he knew to keep his mouth shut, so many good things came to a guy who was 18-19. Plenty of money, easy work schedule, etc. His Dad is a lawyer & since we were young his Dad taught us to keep our mouth shut - paid off pretty well for Brandon while he was working down in FL. IIRC, when he finally left FL after a few years, he had a savings account with most of his tuition for his bachelor's degree in it, something like $30-$40K. I never asked how he got it all, but he wasn't in any illegal stuff so it's possible.

I worked maintenance at a new apartment complex once. It didn't seem bad at the time. Now it does - because i have a plush office job - but I've also gained some pounds. If you like being outside and working with your hands give it a shot.

basically im only scared about one thing... i men finding a job isn't hard at all for me... whenever i need one, i get one... but since im going to the states (im canadian >_<) i can't pay taxes and stuff since i'm not supposed to work when i go down there... which is why i'm not gone already... i'm scared not to find a job that will pay me without the government knowing it =/

                  life's a bitch.
