Yeah, I do because when they can't navagate they automatically think that I can't either. Like if I am going to someone's house for the first time, I will simply ask them for their address and then look it up in the map book. But most times when I ask for their address they will always say something like, "uhh.. do you have a GPS? How are you going to find it? Nobody can find a place without directions. Are you SURE you know how to get there?"

And then the other thing that I find frustrating is when they are so navigationally challenged that they cannot even obey or trust the directions that I give them. Like when I invite someone over to my house for the first time and they happen to be right around the corner, I will tell them something to the effect of, "After the light, make the next right and then make an immediate left and my house is on the corner. 20 minutes later I get another call from them telling me that they still can't find my place. They say, "Well I know you said turn right but it didn't look like the street went anywhere so I turned left.."

Then one thing that was more funny than frustrating was when I went over a buddy's house to help him install his Direct TV dish. I told him that we need to install the dish so that it is facing South. He disagreed with me citing the fact that North is UP and that's where the satellite is.. UP in the sky!

i agree completely. i was leaving a car meet with 2 friends (i was in the back seat giving them directions out) and the meet is on the split part of a highway. so there is a highway on either side of us (less than 2.5 miles each way). when we leave the meet they are like, "wow, i dont know where we're going." so he goes to the side and puts on his hazards. meanwhile, the guy behind us is thinking that we're fucking retarded. i told my friends to keep going north to hit the highway, and they start to argue with me saying that i dont know where i'm going either because this is the first time we've been to this particular meet.

turns out, going north lead us to a road, which then lead us to this highway. stupid people piss me off.

No, I did him one even better. I gave him the 800 number and suggested that he call the company and let them install it. That whole incident was one big cluster fuck. A bunch of people who had no clue kept making useless suggestions.

That's another thing that many people don't know; if you head toward the vicinity of the direction you came from, sooner or later you are going to hit the main highway or you will at least see a sign directing you there. I tell people all of the time that its nearly impossible to get lost in DC. All of the roads lead to the beltway which is the circular part of the interstate that goes around the city. Understandably you might have some issues finding your destination while in DC but getting out of the city is almost a no-brainer.
