they skinned most of my left arm (scar revision) and replaced it with Integra. about 4 weeks in this cast/splint, then regrafting with my right theigh as a doner site most likely. then another 4-6 weeks in a new cast while it heals.
after than 1 more scar revision on my right wrist and fore arm with integra in one spot and a z plasti on the other.
i SHOULD be done by then. i have nerve damage in my right wrist "offically" now. i am pretty sure that there is nothing that can be done to repair that, so i should be declared "stable and stationary" then and start getting my perminate disability $ and enjoy my new status as "disabled" which will help me out getting student loans to go back to pharm school and a new career.
i spent some time the last few weeks helping my friends daughter out with counciling ETC and some extra burn supplies. she was in a bad dirt bike accident and when the bike came to a rest it had given her 2nd degree burns in her arm pit. the bike came to a rest on the back of her neck and she recieved 3rd degree burns on her neck and the back of her head. she went in for surgery a few days before me at the same hospital (she even ended up with the same nurse). talking to her and giving her the heads up helped her out a lot. i've known her since she was a kid too. it does not hurt that she is pretty hot too. ;)
it is nice to help out either way though.
