I went to my aunts lesbian wedding this summer. I got hammered, chased tail with said lesbians, and had a blast.

Who honestly cares? i disagree with homosexuality because of my religion, but im not gonna do anything about it.
    whats the point?
its their choice let em do what they want, and if there right then they had there fun while living and i missed out while living, and if im right im gonna have fun after i die and they missed out after they die.

Can you please describe to me the difference between gays being around you while non married VS married gays? Because I don't get it.

    I have a question...

Everyone that supports keeps saying, "I have no problem as long as they are not affecting me." This always makes me laugh because if you express your opinion of not allowing it to a gay couple and from my experience 99.9% of the time they will flip out and start stating this fact and that opinion and belittle your opinion like it does not matter. It is the same with Apple Fan Boys, if you disagree with their Apple then they will tell you all this information about how you are wrong.

The same holds true for them telling you about it and how wonderful it is. This is homosexual marriage, this is so great, we can do this that and we are great. Personally I don't want to hear about it but they will be glad to tell you about it without ASKING. You rarely hear someone bring it not allowing gay marriage just out of the blue and tell you about how it should not be allowed. But someone supporting it or a gay couple will definitely tell you about it.

It does affect me, maybe not right now and maybe not tomorrow. But down the road it may so I personally do not want it around me. THis is my personal opinion and it is just as valid as anyone elses.

I also 100% agree with Wes. I just don't type or word things as well as he does.

I think boys need men in their life, but better two women raise a screwed up boy than have a dad around who beats his kid. I guess no role model would be better than a bad one. I notice so many screwed up little boys raised by single moms, and some of my friends who were raised that way even say it screwed them up.

It will be interesting to see Canada legalize gay unions. Will that be at the federal level, or is this a provincial issue? Lee?

Whoever brought up death as a situation where a legal union is needed, I'll go with that too. Obviously the deceased's wishes would be best known & most likely carried out by a spouse over a family that was "shamed" because of a gay in the family in the 1st place.
I agree 100% with the fact that there are WAY to many people having kids that don't need to. This is mostly as a direct result of premarrital sex and its much larger base now, but there are even good-to-do married couples that should not have kids. This is most frightening in the African-American communities where something like 80% of children grow up in mixed (not black and white, but divorced with step parents) or single-parent homes. Laws should not have to take place of moral obligations, but its getting to the point where there may need to be federal action. The same can be said to the fact that less than 50% of middle class homes are still living in the traditional sense (no divorce). That means over 50% of homes in this country are mixed. These are social problems that need to be addressed IMO even before healthcare reform or immigration control. The fact is that its too easy to get married, too easy to have kids, and while society as a whole is getting smarter (levels of education are much higher now than 50 years ago), people are losing all of their common sense. John waffleswaffleswaffles can write two page algorithms, tell how the Roman Empire formed, etc... but they can't change a flat tire, fix a running toilet, or make their own dinner.

Everyone is listening to each other, but that doesn't mean we all have to agree. At the end of the day, its morals vs. morals. Either you believe its wrong on a moral or religious standpoint, or you view that freedom is sought through equality, and since homosexual couples have a right to choose, they should be granted the same rights as everyone else. There is no middle ground on this subject. Homosexuals are unhappy with civil unions, strong homophobics :) are unhappy calling same-sex marriage..a marriage.

Agreed. I think too many people take on kids they dont want. My cousin had a baby - kept it for 6 months and decided they didn't want it. That poor kid would have been better off aborted.

I think that gays should be able to get married. If they want to be able to get divorced, and deal with all the other shit that straight married people do, then be my fucking guest. :hitler:

Personally I think that they got a good thing going with the whole "it is not legal" thing. That way your partner or whatever can't bitch about not committing or some shit like that.

Pretty much. Most people aren't going to change their opinion on the subject anyways - so why bother.

That's because must of us are illiterate and prefer pictures, especially of naked under-aged girls (or boys if you prefer).

"Woman though on the other hand aren't nearly as likely to seek marital status as men are."

Women and men couples deserve it and mainly do it to have their rights as human beings recognized, and as far as I can see in Canadian medias, there might even be more women couples than men. The fact that Canada has now instituted gay marriage, right across the US border will be a good enough exemple to demonstrate that the whole country has not turned into "Sodom and Gomorrha" overnight. In fact, it may even have contributed to make our dollar stronger... he, he.
