They start for the cheaper brands in the $850 range and go up from there. I built a Rock River flat top lower w/tactical detachable carry handle & M4 upper w/ YHM quad forend. Command arms 6 postion stock with cheek rest and match trigger on top of many other goodies and have spent so far close to $1200
If I were you I would be picking up at least a stripped lower($150ish) before the next presidential election. The democrats are surely to impose the assault weapons ban again if they have a president in office. The lower receiver is the only part on the gun that has the serial number for registering and will be the only part that will get banned maybe with the exception of the 18" barrels as well. But with the lower receiver you will be able to build out the rifle however you want as you can.
