Guys, let's not turn this thread into a bunch of squabbling over what makes you a hipster and what doesn't. It's my fault for even posting that picture.

So, in closing, Knog Frog lights are great for being seen, but, don't blow your money on them if you plan to see (@ night while bicycling).Last edited by Farbin Kaiber; 10-01-2008, 12:02 PM.

No one plans to see... It just happens, well that is if you aren't blind.
I find this picture rather amusing...

I have SPOK LED's on my bike, I got the pair for $22. I have the red one mounted under my seat and have it blinking, and the white one up front just steadily on. It makes quite a bit of light, just enough to be able to see if I'm going to hit anything. They're also bright as hell, so I'm sure everyone can see me.

i find it a bit amusing that everyone is so anti-"hipster" in here. the fixie culture grew from necessity; bike messengers & urban residents that needed quick, cheap, simple, reliable transportation looked to ss/fixed bikes because they have these attributes. the "look" is again a result of environment; so lots of messengers like punk/hc/indie/emo/hip-hop music and all dress in a similar manner, tight pants, flat brimmed hats, hoodies, patches, and so on. who fucking cares, really? do you ride your bike for fun & transportation? (yes.) are you the first person ever to do so? (no.) so, no one in here is an innovator, everyone is following someone elses lead. it's trendy, people follow trends to be "hip." we built a fixed gear 2 years ago at my shop shop because it was novel and a different type of riding from what we normally do in the mountains. i'll readily admit that my recent interest in the sport is a result of its' revival in urban areas, but also because it is fun. w-p, co, is far, far from urban, and a fixie is even a bit silly here, but so fucking what, it's still fun. why can't everyone accept that even if you don't dress like a "hipster" you're still following a trend. riding bikes is fun, if you do it for fun who fucking cares what you dress like or how many death cab for cutie shows you went to this year. like bmw enthusiasts, bikers share a common love, can't everyone just ride and be happy to share this love?Originally posted by DozyproductionsYou know why you're drinking that Pabst? No its probably not because it was the first beer you grabbed. It's because you're a winner.

I'm well aware of the fact that my bike is trendy as fuck. I could give a shit. I was going to buy myself a bike anyway, and all my friends ride fixies, they're cheap, simple, easy as shit to work on, and fast as balls. That's why I got one.
There. Now everyone in this thread is a hipster. We're all a bunch of fucking hipsters. So let's get over it and go back to drooling over our favorite new addiction.
